#PostBScNInterns is quite telling of what has become of the Kenyan healthcare system.
A system so grossly understaffed in a country with many qualified workers who could fill the gap, left to wither away at home.
What's the point of training people who you won't ulitise?
Kenya being the 6th richest nation in Africa and such hashtags are still seen is a pity and the Kenyan leadership should be ashamed seeing such and doing nothing about it. #PostBScNInterns
A group of over 500 students from a variety of schools finished their studies and graduated with a BSc in Nursing. But that's not all. For nurses to work they need a practicing license and the completion of uni is not enough.
#PostBScNInterns.
The @NCKenya exam occurs flawlessly. You pay a registration fee, sit for mock exams and eventually sit for the main exams. There are usually no hurdles save maybe for venue issues for a few disgruntled nurses.

The 12-Month Compulsory Internship.
This is a different devil. For Doctors the process for internship is flawless and never delayed. For COs, a little complaint and they are posted. For nurses, every year, the system never works.
#PostBScNInterns.
Students have to physically go to @MOH_Kenya offices and seek assistance on the delayed posting. Of course being a government office, we are fed constant lies and false promises for over 8 months but the process always stalls. #PostBScNInterns
So you end up with a potential workforce, adequately trained, top-tier nurses, sitting at home, unlicensed, with an expensive degree but nothing to show for it. We are forced to look like failures to our parents, guardians & community.#PostBScNInterns
We actually need to access our license. We tired of waiting for internship posting. Why must nursing students suffer this long?

I am very frustrated,or rather we are frustrated. To get our BScN degrees, some of us faced delays in our institutions. Now,delayed internship hence delayed practice license. We are stagnating and there'snt much we can do @MOH_Kenya kindly #PostBScNInterns via @Ruthkarialong
8 months ago, we completed our degrees. For those 8 months we have been rendered useless, unable to offer our services, simply because of Mandatory internship, which we are yet to be posted for. For how long must we wait @MOH_Kenya? #PostBScNInterns

#PostBScNInterns,,, we're tired of coming to your offices daily to come and remind you what you already know and supposed to have done it. Internship is part of nursing requirement. Why should we suffer because of our right? #MOH, #nursing council intervene.

Hello @NCKenya@KNUNOFFICIAL
It pains everyone to see young nurses frustrated to this point.
Kindly address their grievances. Posting them for internship is all they need.

I thought securing a job was the most difficult thing post college until I completed my BScN studies and I've had to wait over 9 months for a mandatory internship program by MOH which is still a mirage. This is so painful and time is not constant#PostBscnInterns
