Remembering S. Anitha, a brilliant Dalit student who scored 98% in her state board exams, only to have her dreams crushed when the system shifted the goalposts overnight.

She was the first victim of this oppressive and discriminative central exam system called NEET.

NEET continues to disadvantage, exclude students of state-board students and from marginalised communities.

दिल्लीतील विद्यार्थ्यांवर झालेल्या अत्याचारा विरोधात फक्त 48 तासात महाराष्ट्र बंदच्या आवाहनाला प्रचंड प्रतिसाद राज्यातील जनतेने दिला, त्याबद्दल आभार.

मुंबई, नागपूर, पुणे, नांदेड, लातूर, कोल्हापूर, उस्मानाबाद, गोंदिया, गडचिरोली, भंडारा, जळगाव, नाशिक या जिल्ह्यांसह राज्यातील सर्व जिल्ह्यांनी सरकार विरोधात आपला राग व्यक्त केला. यातून केंद्र सरकार बोध घेईल ही अपेक्षा!

या महाराष्ट्र बंदला पाठिंबा देणारे काँग्रेस, डावे पक्ष, सामाजिक संघटना यातील लोकं सहभागी झाले. त्यांनीही यात मेहनत घेतली.

Maharashtra Bandh 23rd July

@VBAforIndia has called for a Maharashtra Bandh on 23rd July against the brutal use of state force and violence by the @BJP4India against the students.

The use of tear gas, water cannons and piked- batons on students demanding justice reveals the authoritarian & fascist face of the Govt.

In support of these students and to protest this brutal police repression, the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi has called for a complete #MaharashtraBandh on 23rd July.

Even if @VBAforIndia’s called for the Bandh, I appeal to all like-minded parties, organisations, student unions, citizens, students and parents to make this bandh a grand success.

This battle isn’t simply a battle for demanding accountability , it is a battle to protect the future of our country.

23 जुलै महाराष्ट्र बंदच्या निर्णयाला डावे पक्षांनीनी पाठिंबा जाहीर केला आहे. काही छोटे पक्ष, सामाजिक संघटना यांनी देखील पाठिंबा दिला आहे.

शिक्षण क्षेत्रातील काही संघटनांशी आमचं बोलणं झालं आहे, तेही यात सक्रिय भाग घेणार आहेत. काही ठिकाणी शिक्षक-पालक संघटनांना आम्ही विनंती केली आहे की, हा विद्यार्थ्यांचा प्रश्न आहे. यात त्यांचे मोठे नुकसान आहे. ही आमची भूमिका त्यांना सांगितली आहे. ट्रान्सपोर्ट, टॅक्सी युनियन, व्यापारी संघटनांशी बोलणं सुरु आहे.

महाराष्ट्रातील जनतेला आमचे आवाहन आहे की, केंद्र सरकारने प्रादेशिक सेना स्टँड बाय ठेवली आहे. जम्मू आणि काश्मीरमध्ये जो रिझर्व पोलिस फोर्स आहे, त्याला सुद्धा स्टँड बाय ठेवून एअरलिफ्ट करण्याचे आदेश देण्यात आले आहेत.

विद्यार्थ्यांवर जो लाठी हल्ला झाला. त्यात पंतप्रधान आणि गृहमंत्री यांनी सायंकाळी 5 वाजेपर्यंत जंतर मंतर वरती एकही विद्यार्थी दिसू नये असे आदेश दिले होते. त्या आदेशाला धरुनच अमानुष अत्याचार विद्यार्थ्यांवर करण्यात आला. या अत्याचाराचा निषेध आहे.

सरकारच्या विरोधात उद्या जनतेने महाराष्ट्र बंद मध्ये सहभागी व्हावे. तसेच भाजप विरोधी राजकीय पक्षांनी भूमिका घेऊन यात सहभागी व्हावे.
