Feminism is about everyone. All genders getting equality. That includes cis men and in order for there to be true equality, you need to accept the fact that abuse against men is an actual huge issue. Women are capable of anything. That includes abuse #DeppHeardTrial
Regardless of how the #DeppHeardTrial goes, it's brilliant to see people emphasising that it's not always the woman who will be the victim, anyone can be a victim at anyone's hands. If we want to live in a world where everyone is truly equal, we need to truly recognise this.
I don’t understand why so many people in the #MeToo movement are SO QUICK to jump to Amber Heards defence despite all this evidence pitted against her. As a rape victim, I am all for speaking out against male abuses… but it’s women like this that hurt our cause. #DeppHeardTrial
Richard was the consummate lawyer and professional. As his junior, he treated me as a peer well before I deserved it. He was genuinely interested in the perspective of those with whom he crossed paths, mighty or not. How lucky I was to know and work with him.
@amtremonti This is a wonderful thing you are doing. Sharing the feeling of shame you felt as an abused person, coming from you, a highly respected public person, helps other abused persons to realize they are not alone and that it can happen to anyone. Thank you. May you help shine light.
