We welcome this news.
84% of the British public support the choice of assisted dying for terminally ill adults. It's time for Westminster to listen.

@NurseStandard Government should pay bursary again to learn.Or offer more on job training schemes - paying students for the time spent on wards as incentive to get more people in. Oh, and pay nurses a decent wage to recognise that the job is worth more than bagging groceries or making coffee.
Hook - Palliative care is not about giving up on life. It's about living life to the fullest until the very end. Let's break down some common misconceptions about palliative care. 🧵👇
1/ Misconception: Palliative care is only for the dying.
Reality: Regardless of life expectancy, palliative care can help anyone with a serious illness. It focuses on improving quality of life, managing symptoms, and providing emotional support.
2/ Misconception: Palliative care means stopping all other treatments.
Reality: Palliative care can be given alongside curative treatments. It's about providing holistic care that addresses all aspects of a patient's well-being, including physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
3/ Misconception: Palliative care is only for the elderly.
Reality: Palliative care is for anyone with a serious illness, regardless of age. It can be helpful for young adults, children, and anyone facing a life-limiting illness.
4/ Misconception: Palliative care is depressing.
Reality: Palliative care can actually improve a patient's mood and overall well-being. It provides support and comfort during difficult times and helps patients live life as fully as possible.
Let's spread the word about the importance of palliative care and bust these myths. 💪
Nurses like myself are back out on strike today

Nurses are under attack. The government have decided they will take them on and break them if needed
They are the same people who kept this nation going through the pandemic
They are the backbone of society
RT if you stand right behind them and will back them whatever it takes

If CFS >4 chances of successful CPR are essentially zero. CFS = 5 'Mildly Frail' implies help with finances, transportation, heavy housework, medications, shopping and housework #BGSConf
Wow so 500 nurses didn’t vote at all about the strike from my trust. I must say i’m disappointed. Thank christ for the guts of some of the other trusts such as UHB and ROH. Over to you now Unison members.
