You might know #Humpy, the floatie-wearing Seattle Mariners mascot who finally won the Salmon Run last season. But the real humpies, pink salmon, are telling a much bigger story. See how one winner can reshape an entire ecosystem: https://t.co/qKLOq1rSds #visualjournalism#sciart
Humpies, or pink salmon, are among the world’s so-called climate winners. They have become the top salmon in the North Pacific, fueled in part by ocean heating. https://t.co/ZlULFU6p6B
Whoa. Right across the water from the SEATTLE skyline, a fully condensed waterspout is actually churning just offshore. Sara Mae filmed this straight from her window. live now https://t.co/iVAI5SxGrw
Dead whales don’t usually talk. But one did symbolically tuesday when it died at the foot of the March Point refinery. Gray whales are starving to death due to climate change caused by oil pollution.
Whales need clean energy. So do we. https://t.co/sghpAgQdem
What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.
The Mariners do a Salmon Run at every game and one fish, Humpy, has never won
Last night Humpy finally pulled it off in the 15th inning and the Mariners promptly walked it off
In my last post, the cute teaser image next to my story link mysteriously disappeared! 🫥 So here it is, along with a few more animals. Illustrated digitally in Procreate. #sciart#scicomm#climate

We dug into Washington's most expensive salmon recovery program ever. The state is spending up to $7.8 billion to replace highway culverts - basically pipes - that block salmon. But we found many projects are useless today. Fish can't even get to some... https://t.co/o1zbuurMDg
@FlyingTrilobite Perhaps the main argument against them is that if so-called creative works are generated by machines, then they can't be copyrighted by a human. Do we need a new word for *visual* misinformation? #createdontscrape
