Anyone who thinks required assessments and universal screeners are a good idea for school should have to come and sit with a class of five-year-olds trying to take an online assessment.
Today I told my students how much I appreciate them and how proud I am of them, and how I can’t wait to see them in-person.
After about 3-minutes of pouring my heart out, one of my students unmuted himself and said, “Mr. Ferroni, we can’t hear you — you’re muted!”

My son did a thing today. He and three other students from school were invited downtown to create art on the windows & doors of boarded up businesses. Shout out to his art teacher for giving him some creative space to breathe into today. “We Matter”
