Unfortunately, the original DRep ID was created with the Cardano CLI and was not properly supported on the governance portal. In particular, it was displayed as "inactive" and "unverified" on the portal, which obviously detracts people from delegating.

Moreover, I could not use the portal to vote. I had to create transactions manually using the CLI, which is rather time-consuming.

We surveyed the ecosystem but found that most libraries still required a lot of low-level tinkering. We built `zkfold-bitcoin-lib` to provide the high-level, composable abstractions we actually wanted to use. Excited to see if finally being shared with the community!

From our recent private conversations around @zkFold Smart Wallet, I realized that the idea that you could send crypto assets to ANY Gmail address blows people's minds :)

Yes, you can totally do it with our tech. When you do so, the assets are locked in a Cardano smart contract. To unlock them, the user presents a zero-knowledge proof of Google account login.

This is GREATLY different from virtually any other "Web2-login" solution for cryptocurrency wallets. All they do is create a multi-sig where parts of the key are stored with 3rd parties. And it's those 3rd parties who require your Google login proof to exchange for a key shard or signature. Those other solutions can only send to existing wallets and, therefore, cannot be used to acquire NEW users, unlike Smart Wallet tech.

Having a Web2 login option reduces some of the friction anyway, that's true. However, when you send crypto with Smart Wallet, the recipient gets an email with a link to install YOUR wallet or dapp. The money is already there; you just need to log in. Isn't it powerful? 😎
