The problem with a lot of the LaFleur criticism is that it's too broad.

He's a great play designer.
He's a phenomenal QB developer.
He's good at calling a game to set up plays.

He gets conservative too early with the lead.
He's not great at emotional inspiration late in games.
He seems to lean on position coaches for blocking schemes, which feel disjoint from the rest of the play design.

When you put this all together, the tradeoffs still make him effective, and he would be an upgrade for most teams.

But just saying "he sucks" makes it impossible to really get into the pros and cons and have a reasonable discussion about the issues.
