@buccalfatmlkshk@tsoding Tsoding is completely right. At university I found a bunch of subjects really boring garbage, but once I got a job I found them to be great because I was facing real world use cases. Not the garbage "learn X coz I said so" without knowing why something is useful. Bad teachers.
@OccupyDemocrats No, this is not how it's done. Too many of such take down posts, yada yada were done last year and yet Orange Diaper was still elected. Get off your reality distortion field and stop the garbage baiting.
@wanyeburkett In Europe, many computing degrees are called Computer Engineering (not CS) after translation, and those do have statistics (hated it). So by their definition, we (here in Europe) can be "real" engineers.
@robprogressive A high earner that doesnt put 40k into salary sacrifice pension is a terrible earner. They would get 40k into a pension tax free, pay only 33k in tax and still get 71k after tax, being able to live quite comfortably. The 25k salary person, not so much.
@SeaCatWiz@OndrejMirtes If you are dependant on OS like you described, you should have gone the paid route and get a support contract. It's not the project's responsibility to fix your problems, the owner decides. You're lucky to get free stuff in the first place.
@GrantSlatton I've met plenty of Google colleagues who had all good interview feedback and aced all such questions but were actual hot garbage at coding real world projects. Same problem as the academic big O garbage. For many it's easy to study those for interviews while not being good at all
@Gamer89PC @clover_a_morgan @geoffkeighley You ask me how do I know, but you don't tell yourself how you know most want male. There's no evidence. Nobody cares, only angry gamers like yourself do. Go back to playing in your mom's basement. Muted.
@Sebasti66855537@SheriefFYI The problem with many companies is such people are considered a hindrance, because we have to ship tomorrow and ain't nobody got time fo dat. Svereal people in my last team were "why should I care?", and manager would ask me to kill it off coz excuses.
@Roo_ReadOnly@ruben_we@SheriefFYI Their driver was terrible... Imagine 10-20 years of code being added on to the same initial code base from the 90s. It grew horribly and filled with bugs. It was easier and quicker to rewrite from scratch after the reference code was working.
