Then again I've played a ton of truly shitty games just for achievements/trophies so my view of what's good and bad to a regular player could be greatly skewed.
My hot take is this game really isn't all that bad it kinda falls into that "okay" category which could arguably be worse for longevity because you're not good enough to warrant constant praise, but you're also not bad enough to acquire infamy. You're just... there
I have terrible news everyone. It turns out you can, in fact, easily lose weight by just watching what you eat. I know, truly devastating. Been counting calories properly and have managed to drop 16lbs. I no longer have any valid excuse to enable my big back ways.
Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.
I've heard absolutely nothing about this game and suddenly my feed has been plastered with posts trying to gas it up only to be torn apart by others from both ends of the aisle. Genuinely can't tell if it's a good game or not based on reactions I've seen
Not that I believe any of this happened, but its so funny to see religious individuals be like "nuh uh aliens cant be real thats just preposterous thinking... now the magical invisible bearded man who made everything on the other hand..."
No, I wasn’t part of the “alien” meeting. Yes, I believe my friends are telling the truth. No, aliens aren’t real. YES, ANGELS & DEMONS absolutely exist.
Any PlayStation game purchased digitally after March's sytem update will reportedly now require an internet connection once every 30 days to validate the license 🎮
If the console stays offline longer than that, the games will not launch until you reconnect

@GiantTacoHead1@mole_goal To be fair no gen 1/2 game had good monster AI so im not sure why people use that as a gotcha when trying to bring down one classic over another. It just goes to show how cyclical this hate has been within MH though. No matter the game someone says the prior is better
@Maxx_Fact0r@Golden__Dodo A huge W would be to put all the classics on Steam (just for preservation purposes as well), but Capcom appears to be very adamant against that which is a big bummer
As an older player myself it's because a lot of older player's are so blinded by nostalgia they endlessly glaze said older titles while shitting all over the new ones. It's somehow okay to criticize World/Rise/Wilds, but the moment you point out flaws of the classics...
Why do (some) people who seem to prefer the newer games take it so personally when I talk about what I miss from the older ones?
It seems they are already making the game you want, and the next games will probably continue to be made in that vein
@Maxx_Fact0r@Golden__Dodo Honestly I think there's actually a pretty argument to be made that we tolerated a lot more back in the day (like genuinely horrific controls) because MH was a very cool concept and there was nothing else like it. It was competently put together regardless of flaws making it fun
@Tealst_ and when I say "fans" I mean specific hardcore groups. There's a difference between general MH fans and fans of certain titles which is where the animosity usually starts to emerge.
@Tealst_ I mean we've encountered this cycle with every new Monster Hunter even during old gen. When Freedom Unite came out Freedom fans said it sucked, when Tri released Freedom Unite fans hated it, 4U launched and 3u purists were mad. GU especially pissed people off, it seems endless
Like, it's okay to criticize BOTH eras because both have blatant flaws. A lot of this discourse online is usually started by one group heckling the other ultimately devolving into a shit slinging contest because people are being annoyed
"Allows you to move in a 180 with no drawbacks" if i recklessly do a 180 in front of an arch tempered or any other endgame monsters im still gonna get dunked regardless if im facing them or not. I think the actual problem with focus mode is how wounds work in tandem with it
There is really nowhere for the series to go in terms of gameplay and skill expression if its key feature is a tool that allows to control any move to be able to do 180° steering with no appreciable drawbacks. They put themselves in a corner in this game design dead-end
Additionally build variety. They're so focused on making crazy over the top end game fights they inadvertently funnel everyone towards the same skills/builds. Also elemental damage. What the fuck? That shit has needed a rework since day one
Monster variety is severely lacking when you step back and look at the over representation of certain wyvern types and just carnivors in general. They try to ground their designs as much as they can, but then youre left wondering how the ecosystem doesnt immediately collapse
Do you feel anything has been lacking in Monster Hunter recently?
When I say "recently," I'm not strictly talking about 6th Gen. It can also be 3rd Gen, 4th Gen, and or 5th Gen.
