In Ghana since 2008, the number of people diagnosed with TB and enrolled in treatment has been alternating between 14,000 and 16,000 cases compared to about 45,000 new cases annually. Undoubtedly, a lot of efforts have been put in place but the results remain the same.
Next week, the United Nations General Assembly will host a high-level meeting on a huge global problem: tuberculosis. This meeting is an important opportunity to catalyze action on a disease for which progress has been too slow.
Thank you @BillGates for your constant support to save millions of lives threatened by #tuberculosis. The #UNGA high-level meeting is an important moment for the whole world. Only together can we #EndTB! https://t.co/joQnlGWgWG

Kofi Annan brought considerable renown to Ghana as UN Secretary-General, and by his conduct and comportment in the global arena. He gave his life to making peace where there was conflict, to defending the voiceless who were powerless, to promoting virtue where there was evil.
