I definitely do not have life figured out. In fact, I’m still trying to understand what it really means to live. I’ve made mistakes, most importantly, I have learnt from them. Let’s Talk About Life with VoiceofDede is a space for conversations about life as we experience it.
Sometimes, we spend so much time waiting for the perfect plan, that we forget it is okay to figure it out along the way. Start with what you know, take the step you can take. The rest may become clearer when you begin.😌❤️

How did our differences become reasons to kill each other? Our tribes, our faiths, our identities should never cost us our humanity.
I still believe in a Nigeria where our differences are not reasons to hate, but reasons to understand each other.😊

Africa wasn’t the only thing colonized; our mentality was too. Why is it that whenever you point out something wrong here, the response is, “If it were Americans, you wouldn’t say anything”? So I can’t speak on my own country without everything being compared to America?
Sometimes, you already know what you’re capable of, you’re just afraid to become that person.
Chimamanda’s story reminded me that believing in your work before the world does can be the difference between giving up and seeing it become something bigger than you imagined.
For a long time, I struggled with one question: Who am I?
I thought I knew the answer, but then I realized that I didn’t. Who knows? Maybe I’m still figuring it out. But I do know that I’m a storyteller, a spoken word artist, a public speaker, an advocate, and so much more.
