Wait, so the reason 115200 baud is a common bit rate for UART is because its a multiple of 9600 (x12=115200).
And 9600 baud was commonly used because its 32*300 baud.
And 300 baud was used because its the lowest common denominator of 50Hz and 60Hz.
And that was used because telecom signals used to be clocked to the mains frequency?
So many examples of engineers just adapting around legacy systems because its easier to build upon stuff than reinvent stuff lol
UPDATE: So apparently my last post blew up and now half of IT on X is shocked that I don't know how to set up a VLAN or have the CISCO CLI memorized.
Listen here, you beautiful overachievers.
The reason I'm Head of IT at my company isn’t because I’m the most technical person.
It’s because when something breaks, I look calm while Googling the answer.
I make $200k because I say stuff like "layer 3 aggregation" with confidence.
I don't even know what layer 2 is.
Is it like an onion? Are we just making this up? Nobody cares.
The VLAN I "couldn't configure" is still running perfectly.
And when it breaks, I'll just ask ChatGPT again.
@it_unprofession There is still a difference between googling for details and not knowing what to Google. Llms will help these days, but don't disregard years of experience which teaches people an "instinct" of what and where to look to fix a problem.
Intern asked me yesterday: "How do you always know what to do?"
I looked him dead in the eye.
"I don't. I just know how to look like I do."
He laughed. Thought I was joking.
I pulled up my browser history from last Tuesday.
"How to configure VLAN on Cisco switch"
"What is VLAN"
"Cisco switch won't save config"
"Cisco switch blinking orange meaning"
Showed him a ticket from that same day where I "expertly resolved a critical network segmentation issue."
It was the same switch.
His face went pale.
"So you just... Google everything?"
"Not everything. Sometimes I ask ChatGPT."
He asked what he should focus on learning.
"Learn to sound confident when you have no idea what you're doing. The technical skills will follow."
He starts his senior role next month. I'm training him well.
The pathway you choose also determines who your friends are and who'll eventually become enemies, because some pathways are natural nemeses to each other.
The philosophy behind the different paths is... interesting, to say the least. ☕
Bc yes, the pathway you choose will shape your personality in one way or another; this change can be as noticeable as a habit, or so imperceptible that it only lives in your subconscious.
Anyway, it's a topic I'd love to dive into later, but tell me, what do you think about this?
To be fair, though, they're not that naive—at least, Mr. Hanged Man isn't. You can't really blame them. After all, he conjured a shrine out of thin air—well, more like thin fog in this case—right in front of them😂🤌
"The Fool" is actually a fitting title for Klein Moretti cus the way he fooled these 2 into thinking he's some sort of Sequence 1 beyonder or even more is insane 😂
The 22 pathways of the divine: These are the 22 different ways to become a beyonder and each way contains 9 sequences(9-1). After choosing your preferred pathway, you start from sequence 9 by drinking a potion and you gain special powers
@AbdallahHagos Even the monthly subscription is more expensive than most softwares' annual sub. Since it's mostly organizations that buy it for their employees. The bright side though, is you get value for your money.
@AbdallahHagos Thanks, I redesigned one of my old KiCad project, to test the software faster. The process was so smooth that I was jealous of those who can afford that license 😭
