Our paper on inclusion in volcanology is out today! If you havenโt seen the preprint, or even if you have, take a look! @whenrocksfly@elinormere@VolcanoRisk@VolcanoJenni and I have worked hard to provide info that we hope is useful to discuss how we can collaborate better.
Interested in climate-volcano interactions? ๐โ๏ธ๐ฆ๏ธ @volcanofile & I have the perfect #IUGG2023 session (V05) for you! Abstract submission+ travel grant deadline February 14. See you in Berlin in July! ๐ฅจ๐ฉ๐ชhttps://t.co/Knf3AQD3uU @theIUGG@IAVCEI_official@VICS_PAGES

Fires are dangerous. Volcanoes are dangerous. What about fires caused by volcanoes? We've tried to take a look in our new preprint! The main takeaway isn't so surprising--fires caused by volcanic activity can compound the area and amount of damage caused.

For some it's morning for some it's sleeping time...
May I introduce our Beam Team @elettrasincro: Rafa Torres, @MarkoPrasek, @eduardpicohotm1, @Fabio_Arzilli, Lucia Mancini and me ๐โโ๏ธ. Unfortunately missing in the photo is our most capable technician Diego Dreossi. โ ๏ธ๐โค๏ธ
We're trying to keep up with the speed of the scans and reconstruct the pretty 3D features with well adjusted amounts of surprisingly good coffee โ๐โค๏ธ
We arrived and even though I've never been @elettrasincro before, it seems familiar and I love the atmosphere, and funky music during the safety video ๐ง๐๐
I am on my way to #Trieste for some amazing 3D imaging and 4D experiments on volcanic rocks from explosive volcanoes in Mexico and Central America @elettrasincro with great colleagues from Mexico, Italy and Slovenia ๐โค๏ธ๐
Hi friends! If you're interested in how paleomagnetism can be used in the evaluation of volcanic hazards, I'm giving a a virtual seminar tomorrow (19 Oct) as part of the MagNetZ series, 10am CDT/6pm BST. I think it'll be advertised tomorrow or write me and I can send a zoom link!
Following the rise in Volcanic Alert Level at Taupล Volcano today, we have a video update from @gnsscience Volcanology Team Leader Nico Fournier who explains this change and the current volcanic activity at Taupล: https://t.co/glSdAN1pM8
Great questions and inspiring comments to my talk about my PhD research on Mt Tongariro. Thanks @CostanzaBND @lucacaricchi @sciences_UNIGE and everyone that came to listen.
I admire the nerdy art of bubbly #pyroclasts above the coffee maschine in the meeting room ๐ฉ๐ผโ๐จ๐๐
How inclusive do you think volcanology is? In our new preprint, we tried one way of looking at it. We investigated how often locally affiliated authors are included in or lead research about volcanoes in their own countries. #volcano#inclusion
