PillClarity https://t.co/x492T52R8a helps people find Vegan OTC medications and has a list of pharmacies that work with them to find vegan prescriptions medications. Many medications can be compounded animal free if a commercial version is not available.

@KenDBerryMD I work in a pharmacy that helps patients track down vegan medication or compound them for them due to this condition. We have seen an increase in cases. Affected people should look into the acupuncture therapy SAAT.

@MaryBowdenMD @gilfishdad Reading the bill it will probably be tough in Iowa as well. It says to dispense with the manufactures label instructions. The commercial product is not labeled for OTC sale. Baby steps but at least they are forward.

Depending on what you are using it for it may take a lot of 3mg tablets and that can be an issue insurance wise. The caution with the veterinary product is they do not have to list the inactive ingredients and companies can change those at any time. With the collaborative care agreements, it doesn't hurt to shop around. Different pharmacies charge different amounts.

Tennessee has done it best so far. While not technically OTC, it is pharmacist prescribed via a collaborative care agreement. States passing it as just OTC at state level creates seperate issues. Federally it is still a prescription item and the packaging on Ivermectin is not labeled for OTC sale.
In Tennessee it is available mostly at compounding pharmacies which make it into weight based doses. You are not limited to a 3mg tablet.

Congratulations to my amazing wife Beth! She was awarded the Educator of the Year by Jostens Renaissance! This is a national award given to only the most outstanding educators! Abby nominated her, and she was selected (of course)!

No travel concerns today.
With that said, the snow will begin to pick up through the afternoon and into the evening hours. Yes, some of you will see snow before the sun sets. But, with warmer ground temperatures and above freezing temperatures for highs today, I think just wet roads where the snow falls through 7pm.
It's overnight tonight that is much more of a concern as the arctic air settles in and the snow picks up.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, this storm has the potential of over performing.
Why?
Because arctic air is very efficient in wringing out the atmosphere. And, the colder the air, the drier the snow. The drier the snow, the more it piles up.

Today is the day our winter storm moves in. We start off cold and dry, but we'll stay cloudy all day with forecast highs in the 30s and some 40s in the southern valley. This afternoon we'll start to see some snow increasing as our system moves in. I am not expecting any major travel concerns until closer to sundown, but you can see we will have snow by 7pm tonight.
