Over the past week, #BORESHA-NABAD consortium teams convened in Dollow, Somalia and Mandera, Kenya for the programmeβs Year 3 kick-off meetings, bringing together teams working across the SomaliaβEthiopia and Kenya clusters.
The sessions brought together programme teams from the Danish Refugee Council (Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia), @RACIDA_Ngo (Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia), @Vopa_K, and @WFPD_CBO.
The meetings provided an important opportunity to reflect on progress to date and align teams on priorities for the programmeβs final phase. Discussions focused on developing a clear 18-month implementation roadmap, reviewing indicator gaps, strengthening coordination across thematic areas, and identifying strategic communication and visibility opportunities for the coming months.
Programme teams also worked to align work plans, budgets, and reporting processes to ensure implementation remains coordinated, efficient, and responsive to community needs across the borderlands.β¨β¨As #BORESHA-NABAD moves into its final phase, focusing on sustainability will be critical to consolidating gains and delivering sustainable outcomes for communities across the Mandera Triangle.β¨β¨#BORESHANABAD #BorderlandsResilience #DevelopmentCoordination #HornOfAfrica

1/4 @Vopa_K is excited to launch a 6-day Teacher Professional Devt training for the ECE dept. in Mandera under the #INSPIRED programme. This initiative, in collaboration with the @EDTvoice & @AKF_EA is designed to enhance foundational learning for 100,000 children across ASAL
3/4 The INSPIRED Programme focuses on delivering professional development for teachers, providing teaching and learning materials to ECE centres, and strengthening county-level leadership and quality assurance capabilities in early childhood education.
The BORESHA-NABAD Consortium partners from @drckenya, @DRCSomalia, @DRC_ngo Ethiopia, @RACIDAofficial (Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia), @Vopa_K, and @WFPD_CBO convened in Mandera for a two-day planning session to strategise for 2025. The partners embraced a clustered implementation approach to enhance activity sequencing, boost coordination, and foster synergy in interventions for increased efficiency and impact.
VOPA has facilitated a three-day NRM training for the ward level climate change committee in Elwak. This training is aimed to educate and empower ward climate committees from Elwak North and Elwak South, focusing on climate change adaptation strategies.
Today VOPA convened a meeting for County Steering Groups (CSG) chaired by county commissioner of Mandera to introduce the new INSPIRED program. This initiative aims to enhance communities and ensure equitable educational opportunities across the region.
Through INSPIRED PROGRAMME funded by FCDO ,VOPA conducted a 3 days ECD training for all sub-counties teachers in Mandera.Our Main goal is to improve the foundation learning skills for Kenya Children including of the most marginalized and vulnerable children in the ASALs
