This is what Joining the European Union as an Associated Member would look like:

If Canada becomes an "associate member" of the European Union (this is looking far more probable now in just mere hours). things will differ in our country as we see it rright now.

Even though we are across the Atlantic Ocean, this partnership would bring massive changes to our daily lives.

First, shopping would get cheaper.

Businesses could sell things back and forth without paying extra taxes. This means European snacks, clothes, or video games will cost less in Canadian stores.

Second, traveling and working would be MUCH easier.

Canadian students could easily move to places like France or Germany to study or work summer jobs without complicated paperwork.

Most importantly, Canada's military would grow extremely quickly and much stronger and way more advanced.

By teaming up with Europe, we would share high-tech surveillance, powerful military equipment, huge additions of troops, and new firepower. (Re: Gripen fleet)

Working together with the EU will allow Canada to build up a large-scale defense system much more rapidly than we could on our own.

We would share the costs and the technology to protect our borders... From the Arctic (Greenland) to yes, in a stark reality now, even our southern border.

That aside, Canada would still keep its own government and laws.

We would NOT give up our freedom. Instead, we would gain an extremely powerful continental entity to keep each other safe.

Joining the EU family would build a stronger safer, and much more connected future for all Canadians and Europeans.

Shifting to new partners and definitely in this regarding up trustworthy allies and never turn their back on Canada like one we know, makes perfect sense. The coming days and the coming weeks will be historical for OUR nation and Europe.
