#WATCH | Hyderabad, Telangana: On his assessment of the government’s approach to capital development and whether there is a clear and time-bound roadmap for Amaravati’s progress, YSRCP leader and former Andhra Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath says, “This capital again is part of bad governance and a very weak understanding. Basically, when the state was reorganised, there was a very good technical committee constituted as an Act of Parliament to look for the best possible place for the future capital because residual Andhra Pradesh loses Hyderabad… And there was sufficient time given—ten years given for you to build your new capital. What was that committee? The committee was headed by KC Sivaramakrishnan, who was a former IAS officer, served as the Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, and was one of the foremost authorities on that subject in the country. If you look at that committee, it was filled with people who are deans and specialists in urban planning, environment, etc. After touring the entire state and gathering data from everywhere, what Sivaramakrishnan opined and stated was that decentralisation is better for the state of Andhra Pradesh, both for historical reasons and practical ones…”
#WATCH | Hyderabad, Telangana: On govt's claim that Andhra Pradesh is experiencing double-digit economic growth, YSRCP leader and former Andhra Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath says, “This actually is very surprising to us because anybody who would learn or get to know from the documents or reports that are submitted by the government, by the RBI, by the CAG, will understand that this is a false claim. The reason is—as there is growth, like the AP government and Chandrababu claim—it should also be followed or supported by a growth in the revenues as well… When there is growth, growth is always followed by or accompanied with an increase in tax revenues…For example, he says there is a growth of about double-digit, which is close to 11 per cent. But when we see the financials, it shows that there's a contraction—in fact, a reduction in revenues by 3.2%. Now, if you take the financial year 2024-25, there is 89,500 crores of state-owned tax revenues, whereas the financial year 2025-26 shows 86,500 crores. In fact, this is a reduction. This is a reduction from 2024-25 to 2025-26 by 3,000 crores, which is approximately 3.2%. So how can there be a double-digit growth in the economy when the revenues are falling? Very surprising…”
Interesting data. Surprised to see our @ncbn Babu garu way way down in ranking. Karnataka as the richest state should do better @CMofKarnataka @siddaramaiah
Andhra's Lifeline is being utilized by the TDP to enrich themselves!
The 108 ambulance & 104 medical services were made available to save lives. It is quite unfortunate to learn that, the TDP Government is misusing the facility for generating financial gains for their party.
During the period of the YSRCP Government, we strengthened these services and supplied new ambulances, upgraded technology, and ensured 24x7 emergency response. Our focus was on expansion, quality and accountability, this ensured that people in villages and towns have quick access to life-saving care.
Now under the TDP alliance Government, the contract with respect to this lifeline has been awarded to Bhavya Health Services Pvt Ltd, the director of which is Dr. Pavan Kumar Donepudi, a TDP leader & ex- TDP Doctors' Cell President. The net income generated by this entity is only Rs. 5.52 crores in FY 24, indicating its lack of financial capability. Further, this company has very limited relevant experience, yet was favoured over proven operators like GVK EMRI and so forth. This also jeopardizes the lives of people of the State. It is noteworthy that the tender conditions were tailor made to ensure that the TDP leader's company secures the contract.
Further, the awardee faces no risk under the contract and is required to make very negligible capital expenditure. The awardee is also being provided payment for his services in advance and thereby afforded a substantial benefit. The penalty clauses under the contract are also unimaginably liberal. The objective of the TDP Government is amply clear. The desire is not to provide seamless and quality emergency lifesaving services to the people of the State. The intent is to generate cash flows to TDP to the tune of Rs. 31 crores per month, escalating at 3% per annum.
This is not healthcare, this is a scandal of over Rs. 2,000 crores magnitude.
