An investigation by Current Time reveals that the Twitter account @ HeiskanenKosti , presented as belonging to a “Finnish journalist,” is in fact linked to a Russian individual involved in Kremlin propaganda.

Independent investigations corroborate that “Kosti Heiskanen” is actually Konstantin Lebedev, a Russian citizen born in Leningrad, who adopted a Finnish-sounding identity for media work.

According to the report, “Kosti Heiskanen” is a constructed media persona. The person behind it is a native of Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) who uses a Finnish identity to gain credibility with foreign audiences while promoting pro-Kremlin narratives. This identity has been actively used across Russian state media and social platforms, including Twitter/X.
