Yesterday, we were pleased to receive a delegation of investors led by Dr. Oko Jaja, alongside Mr. Dennis Madu Nwakanma, CEO of MD Nwakanma Nigeria Limited. Dr. Jaja briefed me on the significant progress made towards the establishment of a $145 million solar manufacturing plant at Umuelele, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, in partnership with their Chinese counterparts.

I am delighted that the project has reached the Final Investment Decision stage. This is a resounding vote of confidence in the improving business environment we are building in Abia State. It further validates our vision of making our State a preferred destination for local and international investment.

We remain committed to providing every support necessary to ensure businesses thrive and investments are protected. We have done everything required to make the land available for the project, and we stand ready to provide every necessary support to ensure its successful implementation.

Beyond the investment itself, the project promises jobs for our young people, skills development, increased economic activity, and greater prosperity for our State.

I commend Dr. Jaja, the investors, and MD Nwakanma Nigeria Limited for their confidence in Abia. I am particularly encouraged that the first tranche of funding is expected by September 2026, with factory construction projected to commence before the end of the same month.

I am also pleased that young Abians are already being trained in solar installation and related technologies, with plans for selected workers to receive advanced training in China once operations begin.

Recently, someone stole from my parking store

About 40 items worth over ₦140,000 each. They were planning to sell them for just ₦2,000.

The security personnel caught the guys and took them to the police station. Everyone expected me to come there angry and make sure they were dealt with.

Honestly, when I got there, I was furious too but after about 20 minutes, I calmed down.

I thanked the security personnel for being vigilant. Then I did something nobody expected.

I secured the release of the two young men on bail and gave them ₦50,000 each to go home.

Then I gave the security personnel who caught them ₦100,000 each.

The men were dazed. One had tears gathered in his eyes because when he saw me he was initially scared that I will ensure he was charged to court. How that verdict was turned over and I gave bailed and gave them money instead left them in shock.

Till today, my friends still don’t understand why I did it.

To be honest, I don’t fully understand it either.

I just had a deep conviction in my heart to show mercy.

Maybe because sometimes people need a second chance more than they need punishment.

Maybe because I kept asking myself, what if one act of kindness changes the trajectory of their lives?

I don’t know.

But I left that station with peace in my heart.

Germany earns 2.2 trillion euro annually. Half of it is paid back to people (welfare, children, pensions, etc). Basically, the German government is a massive money redistribution engine, taking money from tax payers and giving to people. A socialist system.
