@vrexec "You own a small getaway property in a sleepy rainy windswept part of the world like Scandinavia"
I recommend Finland for this. Very underrated and overlooked. You can buy a cabin for fairly cheap compared to Sweden & Norway. Safe & relaxed. Pure, endless nature to roam
@vrexec@blueprintsmb22 whats the thing your 48 old self is calling you to do the most?
idea for a post: write a letter to yourself from the pov of you as 48 yo self living the absolute dream existence
@vrexec Yep! I think its a major hidden gem. I mean its not hidden, people do know about it. But its literally one of the two places europe that have great weather in the winter
Very hilly though and the driving is crazy. And it has many microclimates. But I do love it. Eternal spring.
@anakin0010110 Love Bosnian food so much. I visit Bosnia once a year to flyfish and the lunch is the best part of the day. Cevapi with some onions, ajvar and kajmar, cant beat it
I just found a yt channel of a person who 4 years ago FIREd with 70k⬠portfolio + working 2 months per year . 2026 will be the first year she will not work at all and will live completely off of the portfolio gains.
She looked like a super happy, content person living a great life.
I only have authority on Europe and here this is very much correct. You can live a great life with 600k.
I also think financial tech will improve and safe, stable yields of 6-10% without any volatility and very little risk will come the norm in the future.
Buying back months is a great reframing.
One motivation for saving money is to consider that each 50K you save produces enough annual interest to cover basic expenses for 1 month of the year.
Man is born a slave and it costs about 600K all in all to buy your freedom.
But buying back August isn't a bad start.
