Careers are long. And you never know how life re-intersects…
The karmic boomerang is real. For good (and for bad). Always why you should do the right thing!
I was today years old when I realized the bonus shares on long term shares are actually considered short and show zero cost of acquisition, your long term profit changes to pure short term profit and long term loss. Guess whose tax PnL calculations have gone for a toss.
Bro to bro- do not try entrepreneurship if you don't have a high tolerance for uncertainty. For long periods of time, you genuinely won’t know if you’re early, wrong, unlucky, or just stupid. You need to be cheap before you can afford not to be. Because raising money and burning it is easy. Building something people are willing to pay for is hard. You need high self esteem and a low ego and you've to be comfortable being wrong, looking stupid and changing your mind. Most importantly, learn how to lose without becoming a loser. Because you’re going to lose a lot- money, people, deals & time. Just don’t lose your ability to think clearly. And btw, don’t go looking for motivation. It is useless after a while. What you really need is stamina. Both physical & mental.
Starting up is very similar to solving puzzles in real life, thats the thing I enjoy most about this journey
This viewpoint also really helps take the pressure off
So much of being a founder is overcoming fear.
Fear of launching
Fear of talking to users
Fear of rejection
Fear of ambiguity
Fear of charging money
Fear of looking dumb
Fear of doing the hard thing
What are you avoiding because of fear? Don't let it control your company.
When I was in Paris recently, I had breakfast with a deep tech founder who was debating wether to move to SF. He wanted to improve his odds at fundraising.
That's the wrong framing. Capital matters but the biggest benefit in coming to SF is to raise your ambitions. You are the average of the people you surround yourself with. In SF, the people surrounding you are attempting things that would sound insane in Paris.
I've watched it happen to founder after founder, and it happened to me too. Put yourself somewhere you're no longer the most ambitious person in the room!
GenZ rising against a fascist government. Abandonment of dishonest media and new age of independent journalism being born. Women leading from the front - bold and unapologetic.
We’re told that buying cheap Russian oil was a masterstroke for India's national interest.
But a stunning claim has emerged from US Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent:
Indians never saw cheaper fuel, while a few rich families allegedly profited $16 billion by reselling it.
Is this true...?

Who’s pushing Ethanol? – Nitin Gadkari

So India and Pakistan are rivals. India and China are competitors. India and Russia are strategic partners. Russia is almost an ally of China. China has Pakistan, a former US ally, in its pocket. Pakistan has a booming relationship with Turkey. Turkey, a member of Nato, is a treaty ally of the US. The US has a vibrant strategic, economic and defence partnership with India, while Pakistan, where the man who attacked New York was found and killed by the US, moved away from America's orbit. But the US continues to hyphenate India, a partner, and Pakistan, which is armed by China, its most powerful geopolitical rival, and Turkey, a treaty ally. This is the strategic picture of today's world.
So @airindia gave a paycut to pilots, incentivised (read bribed) commanders to break away from Pilot unions, oppressing first officers by reducing flying hours and pay, got @DGCAIndia to introduce revised rest period policy and developed an industry monopoly - All with one merger
