Thank you to everyone who gave a thumbs up to this post. My father was an idealist and loved America as a first generation son of immigrants from Belarus.
Today is my father's birthday and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. His spirit lives on in his wonderful screenwriting and the Riskin films Frank Capra directed. Thank you @tcm@FilmForumNYC@CitizenScreen@ClassicMovieHub keeping the flame of old films alive.

Today Claudette Colbert passed on but left a great legacy with her fine career and as an activist. Strong character and spunk. My dad talked her into playing the lead role in It Happened One Night and the rest is history @ClassicMovieHub Hello friends who love old movies.
Today is my mother's birthday. Happy Birthday Fay Wray and mom. I found this photo of my mother with Amelia Earhart at the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles. @Olympics@earhartreality Sharing it with my film friends. @ClassicMovieHub@tcm
@jeffgoldesq@atrupar Nope. No left wing violence promoting groups. Can't name one. The Trump and Miller Fascist playbook...name-calling, fear-mongering, agitating.
@AC360 We can't allow ourselves to be terrified by emotionally undeveloped teenage boys. They need guardrails. Let's set them. And the tech companies are addicted to unfettered financial growth. They need guardrails too.
In late 1939 the US was divided. Communist witch hunts had begun. Hitler had begun his round ups of Jews and his assault on England, but Americans wanted to stay out of the war. When my father wrote Meet John Doe he was warning fellow citizens about the rise of fascism.
I did this interview with Stephen Smith about the new release of Frank Capra films (many written by my father, Robert Riskin) and loved the conversation. So I am sharing it with my favorite friends @ClassicMovieHub@CitizenScreen@tcm https://t.co/45dLB8csza
On the eve of election day, I reread the speech that my mother gave in 1944 when she was campaigning for FDR. I sent it to my friend Laurence Tribe who shared it with his followers.
