v0.4.4 introduces version history to Vrite!
- Version snapshots are taken automatically and stored for up to 30 days;
- You can preview, restore, and assign labels to specific versions;
- You can use the diff view to see differences between different versions;
Autocompletion is how I experience the benefits of AI pretty much every day, where (for code) GitHub Copilot changed the game.
Now working on bringing something similar for technical writing in @vriteio. No 100% AI-generated content with hallucinations, but seamless autocomplete to accelerate your writing process.
You'll be able to accept the entire suggestion, or only specific tokens, or generate an entirely new one with ease.

Finally shipped @vriteio's custom element views!
New way to extend Vrite and create editor customized for your knowledge base/docs/blog/etc.
Here's an example of an interactive Accordion view:
Experiment writing API docs with @vriteio
"Hybrid" approach - param details fetched from a schema - examples, description, etc. written separately
Content synced from Vrite to GitHub repo (in MDX files), and final site created using Astro (with search/Q&A powered by Vrite)
The vast majority of WYSIWYG editors are limited by the types of content they support. I hope to change that with @vriteio's upcoming feature - custom element views.
You'll be able to define your element views as Vrite extensions, using JSX syntax, custom styles via utility CSS, etc. all while having full control over what content is allowed where, and still getting JSON output via API.
Thinking about adding a clean publishing frontend to @vriteio, making it easy to host your blog/docs/etc. with little to no setup.
Also fully OSS, with the ability to "eject" to equivalent template, that's fully customizable.
Is this something you'd like to see? π€
Been exploring structured content and CCMSs recently. Seems like, apart from API and tooling, schema and content editing (the actual UI) somewhat suck.
Are there any novel alternatives I'm not familiar with, or is this something to explore with @vriteio? π€
I'm obsessed with technical writing and building startups.
So, I spent 100+ hours actually working and building stuff.
Here's what Iβve built:
