For all those criticizing @theliverdoc , fr his contributions to fighting pseudoscience/ recent skirmish with the great Chess Player Vidit, let me tell u that his life is not easy. Besides his busy medical practice, the great Dr fights pseudoscience, not fr his benefit , but to save precious Indian Lives. That is a noble cause.
There is no Dr more abused in Indian Twitter than @theliverdoc . Yet, he continues to do his good work. Sitting in Tamilnadu, I hv heard testimonials of several ppl saved from alcoholism/ potential painful death, just by following him. He has contributed to improving the general health of Indians by his rational, intelligent tweets replete with immense, life-saving wisdom.
Bringing his family into ur quarrel with him, tarnishing their image is revolting. Nobody else among the current generation of Indian Drs has done more to improve the health of 1.4 billion Indians, as has Dr.Cyriac Abby Philips, the great hepatologist frm Kerala. He hs a certain style of putting things across, which is his wish.
Whenever/wherever Pseudoscience had the potential to destroy human life/good health, this Dr hs appeared on the scene, to explain in simple terms, what is medically good or bad fr the avg Indian. Fr that alone, he shd be awarded the B.C.Roy award fr the best Indian Dr. & don't bring in religion. Not in a single tweet, hs he remotely been critical of ANY religion.
Raise a toast to Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, lovingly called The Liver Doctor. A one-man-army that has saved thousands of lives.
In India, You can Have an ideology, support a political party, believe in policies and ideas, favour a sporting team.
But never ever be a fan. Especially of individuals, be it politicians, sportspersons, actors and Govt servants.
Because Most don't care about you.
Many don't believe in what they say to you. Most don't practice what they preach to you.
For them, You are nothing but a means to an end. And their end is very different from your end.
In that regard
One person will ask you to live, breathe and fight for Kannada. Will ask you to object to milk packets because of Kannada. But will send his kids to Canadian International School and Canada for higher education.
Another one will ask you to die for Tamil. But will send his son to a convent and get him educated in English.
Then there are people who will implore you to get your kids educated in Marathi medium, because you know Marathi Pride and all that. But will send their own to a Scottish school, where the fees is more than your annual salary.
Some will go out of the way to prevent the growth of industries in their state. But will send their daughter to the neighboring state for starting a company.
Some push their state into bankruptcy and starvation, but will send their kids to London where I kid you not, they become Connoisseurs in foods so esoteric that you need a language degree to pronounce their names.
Your transport secretary does not pay the toll he / she levies on you.
Your health secretary goes to London to get himself treated not the local govt hospital.
Your cricket captain doesn't use any of the products he endorses.
Your Head / Tail / Feet / Hand actor asks you to drink Coke and eat Lays, but doesn't have sugar and runs away from chips faster than he runs away from you.
Most ask you to be patriotic and stay back in India. But send most of their kids abroad.
So Never idolize individual people.
Don't listen to them without applying your own brain.
Most will say you are the most important person in their life, but will not hesitate to unleash the police / bodyguards on you.
They will make you wait endlessly in traffic jams so that they travel comfortably. But then they will tell your happiness is their main concern.
They want you to follow what they tell you. But they will never take responsibility for the outcome.
Because They don't make the choices they ask you to make. They don't deal with the fallout like you do.
You are nothing to them as an individual.
For them you just another non playing character in an ocean of non playing characters. Their interest in you is only to the extent of how much they can extract from you.
They don't care you live or die, as long as they keep benefitting off your stupidity.
For the people you blindly follow, they don't even want to know you.
For them You are nothing but a movie extra.
A nicely worded ghostwritten social media post, which they don't even read, forget mean.
And if you die in your attempt to validate your fandom, you become a name on a sheet, whose family has to be given ex-gratia payment to. And most probably they would have to pay a bribe to receive it.
So be smart. Support people by all means. But draw a line.
Don't be a fanatic of anything. It isn't worth it.
You gain nothing from it. But will lose everything because of it.
The only people who love you and care for you are your family. They will be the only ones who will miss you when you die.
They will be the only ones who remember you when you are gone.
Don't believe me, ask the families of people who were killed in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Hello!
Do think this is a good idea?
If yes, please read till the end.
I would like to start brainstorming and working on an ambitious book project which deals with science-based nutritional advice and easy to prepare daily recipes using easily available, locally sourced ingredients (with visually stunning photographs) for people at risk of developing liver disease and people with liver disease (spanning the whole spectrum of early to advanced). This would also include liver specific dietary interventions for special diet population (vegetarians, vegans).
I would also like to tackle a hell lot of misinformation in diet and nutrition (in general and liver wise) in the process.
I know the science behind this. I need a well-informed clinical nutritionist and a chef who can help me go the distance.
I am in a point in life where I believe that doing more for the public is far important that storing knowledge within peer circles and medical community. I want to "break the fourth wall" in medical education, by directly addressing the public and patient populace, especially when it comes to liver health.
If you know anyone who is formally trained in these and willing to devote and invest time and expertise to this project, please reach out to my team at:

PS: I am a very nice person in real life. I don't bite. My Mr. Hyde does all of the social media responses. Just FYI.
The people who start the wars don’t fight them, the people who spend the taxes don’t pay them, and the people who forgive the criminals don’t live next to them.
Of course we’re going to have too many wars, too much spending, and too much crime.
If you are a corporate employee. And, lose 1 client. I can assure you, you will be fired.
But, if you are a government employee. And, 100s of people die due to your lack of your planning. Nothing will happen to you.
This Christmas, we’re celebrating more than the season—we’re also celebrating our promise to always deliver the highest quality of service. Wishing you a Merry Christmas filled with health, love, and joy!

What are the main reasons people are considering leaving India? My observations:
[1] High pollution & food adulteration
[2] General frustration due to taxes
[3] Most political discourse is garbage
[4] High Real Estate prices + Poor infra.
[5] Chhapri culture is now mainstream
I think India is basically an anarchy which somehow survives because a few people have the conscience, morality or spirituality to do what they are supposed to do.
I read a case in Trivandrum about a lady who wanted to buy a Skoda car to fulfill her dying mother's last wish.
She called Skoda on where to purchase the car. Skoda Customer care asked her to go to their Authorized dealer in Trivandrum pay an advance, to book the car, which she duly paid.
Then the dealer asked her for 5 Lakhs to expedite delivery, which she did. This was for her dying mother after all.
Parallely, HDFC bank processed her car loan and paid the money directly to the dealer without asking her.
In total she payed close to Rs 14 Lakhs of her money to buy a Skoda Slavia. For her mother.
Then put of the blue the dealership shut shop. She didn't get her car.
So logically she approached Skoda.
And what do they do?
Skoda being Skoda, has washed their hands off this matter saying they recieved no money from the dealer. So they cannot give her a car.
Apparently they are not responsible for the actions of "Skoda Authorized Dealers" recommended by Skoda Customer care.
On top of that, They even asked her to pay another 16 Lakhs, to their Ernakulam dealership, so that she can buy a brand new Skoda Slavia, because of it has amazing build, high safety rating and awesome drive quality.
Poor lady has been fighting a case in the courts for the last two years, where Skoda is resolutely determined to deny her a car that she paid for.
She is making rounds to our courts, paying for lawyers and paying interest and EMIs for the car loan, for the car she never got.
Because a Skoda Authorized dealer, recommended by Skoda, ran away with her money and Skoda is refusing to take ownership for this fiasco.
Can you imagine a functioning country with a remotely active legal system, where a person Authorized by the company, can take money from a customer in the name of the company, run away, and company can claim zero responsibility for it?
In India you can.
Skoda has done it in this case.
Which is why, in India if you pay for something and get it, remember it is because the person giving it you, does it out of his own morality and conscience.
Not because of the repercussions of not adhering to a contract.
Our entire society is run because few people are conscientious enough to do what is right.
Not because of our systems and legal process.
Which is wrong.
Would Skoda have dared to pull this stunt in a western country?
They wouldn't.
P:S: Her mother, for whom she bought this car, passed away two years ago without seeing the car.
P:P:S : The same Skoda refunded the full amount and gave additional compensation to an Indian govt babu because of a repainted side panel, but is refusing to even hear a genuine issue of a common person. Are we tax payers that powerless in this country?
P:P:P:S: why the fuck it is always Skoda?
Here's the sad story if you want to read it.

Dried fruits have a higher sugar concentration than fresh fruits due to the dehydration process, which removes water and concentrates natural sugars. This can result in significant spikes in blood glucose levels, posing challenges for individuals managing diabetes.
