@Apple@AppleSupport how do you verify that an 82 yo iPhone user is over 18 if he has no credit card and no driving licence or national ID and passport not accepted? Totally ridiculous system. The insistent request for this proof is very intrusive
@metoffice donโt like the new App at all. The old one was much better. For one thing it says that my location is Chelsea when I am in old Clapham. Nothing about storms and flooding in Spain when I check Granada and Cordoba where I am bound soon. Posted on Bluesky for scientists
@Apple fed up with old emails coming up with a pale grey note saying โfollow upโ it often looks as if the relevant person (the recipient) has replied. At the very least you could colour the notice some livid bright colour so its status is clear
@LexadonProperty@lambeth_council@lambethshambles Rectory Gardens SW4 is an utter mess again and has been bad for some time. Rectory Grove is rarely swept and passers litter all the time. Dogs a menace too. This is a historic part of Clapham Old Town. Urgent action appreciated

No street sweeping for weeks. This is historic Old Clapham. The constant mess invites littering by all messy passers. Street full of dog mess and worse (human?). No public bins.
@LexadonProperty@lambeth_council@survivinglambet . The occupants of these houses leave their rubbish around all the time. The overflowing black bins have now been emptied but rubbish in #56 front still there since Monday. In Rectory Gardens: fly tip Xmas trees. Unacceptable.
โฆ@LexadonPropertyโฉ โฆ@lambeth_councilโฉ. It is still 5 days till next bin day and we have this mess to look at in Rectory Gardens and into Rectory Grove which also has many overflowing bins outside the โฆ@LexadonPropertyโฉ houses. The road is a constant mess.
โฆ@LexadonPropertyโฉ โฆ@lambeth_councilโฉ Once more the bins at the junction of Rectory Gardens and Rectory Grove are a disgusting mess - this was taken on Friday 13 December
@NationalGallery No more joint memberships. Price for two cards for a couple goes from ยฃ95 last year to 2x68=ยฃ136 43% increase. ยฃ112 provides one non-transferrable card for named member plus guest. So I cannot borrow the card only accompany my husband the member.
Congratulations to Prof. Josephine Pemberton on being awarded the prestigious Genetics Society Medal! ๐ Her groundbreaking contributions to genetics, from understanding natural populations to evolutionary biology, continue to inspire us all.

@VirginActiveUK App design has many problems. Cannot phone, the chatbot is stupid and thinks I have login trouble and threatens to reset my app which will be disastrous. Send me an email address that I can write to in clear English. Am member at Clapham
I have started a Bluesky account (same handle). I am not sure if I am going to โtransferโ. I feel very unsure about what seems to happening (separate platforms for left and right). But I am being prepared.
When I did my DPhil, many decades ago, the MRC graduate student grant was โfor training in research methodsโ. It was a reassuring notion, although a first author Nature paper was most welcome for binding into my thesis.
What do you think, can you graduate and get a PhD if you did everything right but didn't get any original results worth publishing? I have a feeling most people would say 'no', but in my opinion it's a 'yes'. Where would science be if we don't try things that can fail?
