Classroom management doesn't have to mean making sure kids comply. A classroom built on relationships and rapport goes way further than one that focuses on punishment. When kids reflect on their actions and own them, they are less likely to repeat them. Relationships matter.
"Without students who feel safe, loved, and who are equipped to understand and deal with their emotions in a positive way, it is next to impossible to focus on curriculum… Maslow before Bloom."

#UABEEC301SP20@PrinceEa I want my students to feel like they have a voice, I want them to focus more on the knowledge then the grade, I want to build a community for my kids more than just a classroom.
Every single educator has unique & important gifts. The best leaders make sure to appreciate/acknowledge those gifts so that all know them, routinely share them & feel the confidence, value, safety & security to grow from the gifts of one another. #JoyfulLeaders#LoveWorks
Districts so quick to change their curriculum based on shiny new “research” do so b/c they are not rooted in deep, strong pedagogical beliefs. They don’t have any. Nor do they have strong lit leadership w/ a DOK & years of exp. in expert instruction in gen ed & early literacy.
