John Thune, the new Senate majority, will say this in his maiden speech leading the chamber: "And one of my priorities as leader will be to ensure that the Senate stays the Senate," he will say. "That means preserving the legislative filibuster – the Senate rule that today has perhaps the greatest impact in preserving the Founders’ vision of the Senate,” @tedbarrettcnn reports
Thank you @SenatorSinema for your service and partnership. Your bipartisan work on infrastructure, marriage equality, gun safety, and more, leaves a lasting legacy for Arizona and our country.
Proud that @SenatorSinema @robportmanOH@SenatorBaldwin@SenatorCollins@SenThomTillis negotiated the bipartisan agreement to make this law.
RFMA wasn’t automatic or guaranteed - it took months of us working hard and building trust with unlikely partners and coalitions.
Two years ago, I was proud to sign the Respect for Marriage Act into law—requiring interracial and same-sex marriages to be recognized in every state in the nation.
It was a vital step towards creating a nation where decency, dignity, and love are honored and protected.
One of those unlikely partners was @Ch_JesusChrist, who we worked closely w/ for months and whose voice was impactful in earning enough support to pass RFMA.
I’ll never forget how I felt when I saw their public statement endorsing RFMA ahead of the vote: https://t.co/Y4pqVwxPjV
Arizona State picked 16th in the Big XII, dead-last, by conference media in preseason - now conference champs and auto qualifier in @CFBPlayoff and depending on how rankings end up they could get a bye and we will never ever hear the end of it from @PriscoCBS#ForksUp
@jerrybrito Congratulations, Jerry! Such a pleasure to have worked with you and the inimitable @RobinWeisman. End of an era but can’t wait to see what’s next for you two — and @coincenter.
It’s normal (& indeed necessary to preserve democracy) for candidates & political parties to have different ideas about what’s best for the future of our country.
What should never have become normal is the demonization of others’ viewpoints, and worse, each other as humans. 1/
The National Border Patrol Council announced their support for our border security bill. Border Patrol is the first line of defense in our nation – they know our plan will stop the overwhelming flow of migrants and reassert control of our border.
There’s a lot of noise from folks who haven’t seen the text of our bipartisan border security deal yet.
The claim that it lets 5,000 migrants enter our country daily is, of course, false. We end catch & release, secure the border, and solve the border crisis.
Arizona's Senior Senator @kyrstensinema joined @broomheadKTAR to talk about why she and others are asking the U.N. Security Council to designate Hamas as a terrorist organization.

A resilient water future. A fair and secure border. A balanced budget.
These are the issues that matter to my state – and they’re exactly what I’m working towards as a new member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
