What makes this bear market most discouraging to me is how it’s narrowed the space back down- feels much less welcoming and inspiring. Thankful for the teams that keep working to broaden the audience, even when the market doesn’t currently reward that.
let’s do a big one!

Getting less fun to stay engaged in this space when it’s all about just 5 or so projects. Going to spend some time looking into other projects that have been building for awhile too.
Those takes on how eventually a few projects will be worth a bunch and everything else will go to zero…is that what’s happening now? Possibly, but I hope there’s a little time left for experimentation and community building across other projects still.
Working on goal setting and portfolio planning in my web 2 day job and thinking through... most goals fall in one of these categories:
1. Efficiency
2. Clients (bring in new, deliver for current)
3. Capabilities (build new)
4. Conversion metrics (find new, improve current)
Efficiency category is where it's easiest for me to identify opportunities and the most natural to deliver on. It's also what I think leadership cares the least about when it comes to promotions and raises.
Definitely thought this only applied to going broke when I first heard this, but what’s actually caused me to think about moving on from this space is the mental game aspect. Really appreciating @Zeneca_33 lately.
"The best way to thrive in this space is to survive this space."
If you go all-in financially and lose all your marbles, the opportunity cost is enormous.
If you burn out mentally and have to leave the space, the opportunity cost is enormous.
It costs (basically) nothing (but
Lately it seems like the only projects to break past a ~5 ETH floor are ones that have a ton of hype around them pre-launch. Not sure if this impression is right or if it just seems that way because those are the projects that everyone tweets about.
Am I here for for art? Community? Impacting society at large? If I’m honest, I’m bored at my 9-5, have discretionary income, and this space presses the right learning/risk/rewards buttons to stay engaged a bit longer. Appreciate people who tweet honestly lately so here’s mine.
My actual toxic trait is that I disengage/ghost/flee in moments of stress. It takes so much work to keep engaging like @damedoteth has through chaos this past month. Just want to add to the list of people that are thankful for the work they do.

Inspiring convo with @_Fan3_ about the positives & negatives of crypto tonight. Obvious, but still worth saying: disruptive technology is like fire. You can warm a house or burn it down. A tool gains meaning by the hands that hold it, but we can't go back to living in the dark.
