People are being very hyperbolic in saying that the second half of The Brutalist ‘goes off the rails’ or whatever. Thematically, that shift in tone is ESSENTIAL and the film really wouldn’t work without it. The second half is where Corbet (albeit unsubtly) makes his statement.

@baileylikemovie I don’t know if I had a hard expectation that wasn’t lived up to or something like that. I don’t even think the actions of certain characters is what bothered as much as what felt to me like a very different “story telling style” for lack of a better term.
