About last night in New York!
"Our music is banned in Uganda because I committed the worst crime of contesting and defeating Gen. Museveni for the Presidency." - @HEBobiwine .
Last night at the Central Park in New York City, our documentary film 'BOBI WINE: THE PEOPLE’S PRESIDENT' premiered. I had so much fun performing for the crowd who turned up for the occasion. Thank you @natgeodocs for amplifying our voices through film. #PeoplePowerOurPower
From the Women's Prison, we proceeded to Luzira Murchison Bay Prison where we checked on @NUP_Ug supporters comrades Sanya Muhuydin and Katabi Swaibu. The two have been in detention for close to three years without trial. They are still as solid as rock. Sanya in particular told us, "Obusibe bwo tubukola, naye ekituluma kwekuba nga tukola obusibe bw'emyaka jino jona, atte netuwulila nti waliwo bamu kubakulembeze baffe abegase ku nakyemalila." The only thing that breaks their spirits is to hear about some leaders who abandon the cause and begin hobnobbing with the dictatorship. They request that we continue doing everything possible to support efforts to get them out of the long, illegal detention.

From Kitalya, we proceeded to Luzira Women's Prison where we checked on comrade Olivia Lutaaya a strong @NUP_Ug supporter, who has been detained there close to three years. She sends greetings to all comrades. She is of a very strong spirit because she knows very well that she is innocent.
After a long time without seeing her two children, she was able to meet one of them recently. She had determined that her children should never find her in prison, but after the last bail application was rejected she sent for her son, Jeremiah- aged 7. The encounter was a very sad one, with the son asking her what she did to (Gen) Museveni that he cannot release her! As any parent would, she downplayed his concerns and assured him everything would be alright.
We assured her that people out there are very concerned about their continued illegal detention. She appreciates everyone of you who is raising their voices about their situation and requests you not to give up.

Thank you so much for turning up for the show and premier in New York tonight! We are still with you for the weekend so don’t forget to reserve your spot for the theatricals this weekend!
#FreeOliviaLutaaya and all other political prisoners in Uganda. Supporting @NUP_Ug and @HEBobiwine is not a crime! Detaining innocent people for years without trial is the crime - in fact a crime against humanity.
@IntlCrimCourt@KarimKhanQC Some of the guns which killed decent Ugandans on 18th & 19th Nov 2020, were manufactured in USA.
Ugandans would rather receive Nike & iPhones from USA than guns & funds that support the dictatorship & a silent genocide in Uganda.
