I look around at my friends and most women I know, and they have careers, they have apartments that they pay for, they constantly are going on trips, they have hobbies, they have friends, they eat at the best restaurants. They have entire fucking lives that are completely self funded. And yet there is this bizarre cultural narrative going on that if you are 32 and single, something must have gone wrong. But the problem we're having is not that we cannot find anyone to date. The problem is finding someone whose presence would make our already good life better. We are the first generation of women who can genuinely ask, "but do I actually like this man enough to build a life around him?" And apparently that question has resulted in a bit of a staffing shortage.

Like I said before, it is much better for black actors from the US and UK to use their US and UK accents in a fantasy than do this caricature of an accent that is trying desperately to be "African".

Just like the actors in Odyssey were not trying to do some bullshit Greek accent and instead everyone spoke in their normal accent. No one said they should sound like people of the time. I think it is perfectly fine for Idris Elba and Viola Davis and Damson, and Mofe-Damijo to use their normal accents for a black fantasy film set in a fantasy land. (Because even the authors maps were made up). Black people sound different from each other and some black people sound American and British. Even if it was set in Nigeria, different Nigerian ethnicities sound very very different from each other.

There is no need to create this weird accent that everyone tries to do and ends up sounding like they have hot pottage in their mouths. There is already enough accent diversity among the cast that this should have been sufficient. African Americans especially need to let go of that disaster of an "African" accent.

By summer, me and my family are heading to Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores in Ontario. Every Saturday I take my kids to gymnastics, midweek they go swimming, Sundays na church, sometimes we visit friends and do small hangout.

The point is simple: there’s fun for everybody in Canada, you just have to find your own version of it.
Most people only focus on parking shifts back to back, then come online to say Canada is boring 😭
