I emphasized to the Pakistani delegation the importance of combatting terrorism, and in particular, the group Jaish-e-Mohammed, who murdered my constituent Daniel Pearl in 2002. Pearl’s family continues to live in my district, and Pakistan should do all it can to eliminate this vile group and combat terrorism in the region. 4/5

The Guiding Light: Yoga Vasistha, Egypt, and My Journey with @Gurudev
This Precious Guru Story shared by an Early Devtoee and @ArtofLiving Teacher @DrPrema Seshadri ji from the 1990s
A journey of faith and transformation unfolds as the author navigates challenges, trust, and divine synchronicity under Gurudev's guidance, with Yoga Vasistha as a silent companion.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Yoga Vasistha Scripture:
“Yoga Vasistha is a very big thing. Yoga Vasistha needs to be read again and again, reading it once won’t work. If you read it every two to three years, something altogether different will come up. Read and ponder on it. You will gain new understandings.”
@DrPrema ji says, "In the late 90s, Gurudev had asked us all to read “Yoga Vashistha” by Swami Venkatesananda. I was eager to dive in, filled with anticipation. However, it wasn’t long—perhaps only half an hour—before I found myself stuck on page 7. I couldn’t grasp a single sentence! The words seemed like an intricate maze, and despite my best efforts, I couldn’t find my way through. Frustrated, I set the book aside.
A few months later, I found myself in the German ashram. I sat at Gurudev's feet in the meeting room, and He looked at me with those radiant, knowing eyes. “How was it?” he asked. For a moment, I was confused, unsure of what He meant. And then it dawned on me. With a wry smile, I responded, “I hated it. I couldn’t understand a single thing in that book.”
Gurudev laughed and His response was simple, yet profound: “I have a solution for your problem. Don’t read the book.” I felt an immense wave of relief wash over me. But then, I remembered—my Master is not merely a few steps ahead; He is light-years ahead. His wisdom transcends time and space.
That evening, during Satsang, a young girl approached the stage to read aloud a small excerpt from Yoga Vashistha, as dictated by Gurudev. I was deeply moved. As her voice filled the room, an inexplicable power surged through me. The words seemed to carry a divine pull, drawing me into a deep, silent experience. It was a reassurance that felt both warm and infinite.
Gurudev, observing me, smiled. That moment of reassurance became the bedrock of my journey with Him—one that I would traverse for years to come, guided by His presence, step by step, moment by moment.
Early on, I transitioned from being a part-time teacher to a full-time Art of Living teacher, traveling and teaching across the Gulf countries. On my birthday, while on the phone receiving His blessings, Gurudev simply said, “Go to Egypt,” and the call ended. Panic surged through me. “But I don’t know anyone in Egypt!” I thought. Then, slowly, I began to understand—worry was futile. The realization hit me that I needn’t have the answers, for if He had instructed me to go, He would take care of everything else.
Just a couple of days later one of my early participants, a Saudi Arabian, called from Dubai to say hi and spoke about her Egyptian holiday with her cousin who was settled there! I smiled. He was already on the job!
Within days, I was packing for Egypt. On a whim, I tossed “Yoga Vashistha” into my suitcase.
My nearly three-year journey in Egypt became one of profound introspection and growth. It was a period of realizing the true power of surrender and redefining trust. “Yoga Vashistha” though still largely incomprehensible, became my steadfast companion. Did I understand the text fully at the time? Not at all. But somewhere, deep within, it was working its magic. And I recalled what Gurudev had once said: "Our consciousness is ancient, profound, and holds all the knowledge we need. We only need something to awaken it."
Egypt taught me two vital lessons: that the mind is an unruly monkey, and that surrender to a greater power is liberating. It was a place where I experienced the many faces of hospitality, beauty, and kindness. One Egyptian driver, silent for months, since we didn’t share a common language, would ferry me around, and in his silence, I realized that language wasn’t merely about words—it was about the unspoken kindness that transcends communication.
In those days, food was a challenge for a vegetarian in Egypt. Lunchtime often found me walking the streets in search of something to eat. On one such occasion, standing before a restaurant, unsure whether to enter, my phone rang. It was Gurudev. His first question was, “Are you getting proper food to eat?” After that, all my worries vanished. I was taken care of, with the first call coming from the wife of the then Ambassador of India.
One experience in Alexandria, Egypt remains etched in my heart. It was a reminder that my Guru knows everything. One day, after finishing a program, I felt a twinge of homesickness. I was due to head back to Cairo for a large course, but on reaching Cairo, I was told that the course would have to be postponed. I’m never happy to have a course get canceled but for the first time, I was ecstatic. I knew of Gurudev’s upcoming visit to Lebanon. The cancellation of the course meant I could fly to Lebanon to be with Gurudev!
But when I called Him, He firmly and almost sternly said, “No.” And then, with compassion and so much love in His voice, He instructed me to drive back to Alexandria, where “27 executives were waiting for their course.” I prepared for the long drive back, and as I was about to leave, an organizer from Alexandria called with renewed enthusiasm. Curiously, I asked how many people would be attending. “27,” he replied!
The journey continued, a constant dance of excitement, mystery, and surrender. Each moment was a blessing, each experience an unfolding of Grace. With overwhelming gratitude, I embraced the surprises, the learnings, and the boundless love of the Divine.
“Yoga Vashistha” continued to accompany me throughout my time in Egypt. When I returned to the Bangalore ashram to report to Gurudev, He greeted me with a smile and asked, “So, how was the book?” This time, I knew exactly what he was talking about. “Amazing!” I replied, and He burst into laughter.
With Infinite Gratitude and Love to my Gurudev 📷

#AskYunusWhy
The bay area in California witnessed billboards coming up with the question "AskYunusWHY" to Mohammad Yunus.
Persecution of Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and other minorities in Bangladesh has risen dramatically since Yunus came into power - (1/2)
It is outrageous to question @TulsiGabbard’s loyalty to the U.S. just because she does not want to ship billions of dollars more to Ukraine.
Let us have a hearing and let her speak for herself; the American people will see what I have seen and what President Trump has seen.
🚨 URGENT UPDATE:
The situation for minorities in #Bangladesh , particularly in #Chittagong , has deteriorated alarmingly following the denial of bail for Chinmoy Krishna Brahmachari:
1️⃣ Police Brutality:
At the judge court, peaceful Hindu community members gathered to catch a glimpse of Chinmoy Prabhu, with some even attempting to lay down in front of the van taking him to jail. In response, police went rogue, launching a brutal baton charge against the group. Scattered and fleeing through alleys and lanes, the community members were further attacked by police and Islamist mobs, leaving many wounded.
2️⃣ Islamist Rampage:
In Chittagong, extremist groups continued their violent rampage, burning temples, looting properties, and committing arson in Dalit areas, resulting in devastating losses.
📹 Graphic footage captures the harrowing brutality of police assaults on unarmed protesters and the destruction caused by the Islamist rampage.
This orchestrated violence and systemic oppression are clear attempts to silence minority voices and perpetuate persecution against Hindus and other vulnerable communities.
🔴 We demand immediate international intervention to protect Bangladesh's minorities and hold those responsible accountable.

I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.
Yesterday’s events are a reminder that the #Khalistan flag doesn’t just remind one of the Air India bombing & terrorism of the 1980’s, but its appearance evokes dread & violence today for good reason.
