I’ve never run ads before, but decided to start with Apple ads for a utility app. The cool part was getting Hermes to build me this dashboard that pulls data from Apple ads and RevenueCat to compare Revenue to cost per install etc.
Just gives me a nice view as to whether the ad campaign is working. I can safely attribute all revenue to the ads because it’s currently getting very little (brand new app, one week old)
I've been localising a lot of my apps recently, and the most painful part: Updating the text in all my existing English screenshots.
So I made an open source Claude skill that does it for me.
Select your languages from a list, drop your existing screenshots in, Claude will give you the translations to double check, hit go and all the screenshots are generated, in up to 20 languages.
Hope you all get some use out of it in the same way I have. If you do, be sure to give it a star

@AndresDefi Yeah this would be easy to build in. I’ll update it later today. The exchange rates might be a bigger ask, but definitely the currency symbol etc.

Yesterday was my worst revenue day in 3 months.
Same apps as my best day last month, same stores. No change to marketing etc. It just happens sometimes.
Embrace the ups and downs, it makes it all so much sweeter when you have those big days.
This app has had 27 downloads since I released it 2 months ago, and made only $3.
It took me 2 weeks to build with full iPad support as I also tested and refined it with my daughter (the app is aimed at kids).
I loved making it. But it has no search volume so it was always doomed.
Another lesson for me in doing data driven building, rather than what I think is a good idea.
@alpennec Just uploaded to App Store Connect and Apple are happy at that resolution. i have been using this myself recently but only turned it into a re-usable skill today so might be a few little niggles which is why I madee it public and open source so people can do what they want
@alpennec Just pushing a change now to specify a higher resolution image as it was keeping the same aspect ratio as the input images but the resolution was lower, fixing that now
Just setup my first App Store Ads campaign as a test to learn from and honestly I'm so excited. Will share the results here.
The risk is that this is a new app that has never had revenue as it's only like a week old, but any revenue that comes will be easy to chalk up to ads so there's that.
Yeah I use the Astro MCP and the screenshots are some of my faves. I think I should have done more keyword research before pulling the trigger as there was only one decent keyword but the comp was higher than I usually like. I just really enjoyed building it so went with it anyway.
