If and when you get round to watching “No Other Land”

You’ll realise (if you already hadn’t) why they got the BBC documentary banned and why they won’t allow international media in.

They know there would be an absolute shit storm following it because the level of abuse and torture they are mercilessly inflicting on the Palestinians can only be akin to what the Nazis did to the Jews in the ghettos in WW2.

I swear if it was black and white you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve been transported back in time to 1940.

One last note about 'No Other Land' - the very political angle which may also explain why it won an Oscar:

Israel actively works, in many overt and covert ways, to advance its fake image as a vibrant democracy. After all, it is defending minorities in the Middle East, so admirably, right (cynicism alert)?

And while most people will not watch the movie and any discussion of its meaning will be either strictly forbidden or carefully manipulated and controlled in the West, the very existence of auch a movie will serve as a hasbara asset.

'You see how pluralistic and open we are? We're allowing very critical voices to be heard!'

If you were looking for an explanation why such a production rose to such prominence at such a bizarre timing, this may be your safest bet. It promotes Israel's image while purporting to criticize it, and also helps the Zionist paranoia camp to claim that they don't run Hollywood, and that there's so much anti-Israel hatred among Western elites.

Finally, this movie, and others like, being in the limelight for a second lets moderately critical voices feel like something is being said and done, when it is just a well-controlled illusion.

Just to confirm, I work for nobody. I know this is hard for corporatist zombies to understand, but I don't advocate for Palestinians, Lebanese, or anyone else because the going's good. Fully closing down Gaza AGAIN, while resuming hostilities, is much more than a violation of the ceasefire. It is an escalation of Israel's genocidal campaign against the Palestinians.

NB.Israel has violated the #ceasefire multiple times:
- killing 100+ Palestinians in Gazs including children (on top of those killed in the West Bank)
- slowing down entry of aid truck
- limiting entry of tents & denying entry of mobile homes (while children continued to freeze to death)
- refusing release of prisoners and hostages.

It is never too late to hold Israel accountable. May this Ramadan be the time the Palestinians see the int'l community lift itself up from the floor of history.
