@MotorsportHate@Hirad_Gaming@Prostenjoyer Ocon literally told the press after the race that from the moment he put the hards on it was flat out push until the end of the race because the hards had no deg. Same tyre, clean air for both, Bearman on 14 laps older tyres. Ocon was fighting for a point too.
@F1BigData@Fifa22Support What for anyways? The only part of the track where they will have problems with energy is the main straight, and the battery is too small for it to last the entire straight anyways. The track otherwise is full of hard braking zones.
@NeonDisembark54@Prostenjoyer You also can't say that he was lapping faster than Bearman prior, because everybody on the hards was just getting faster. There was no degradation, so they all got faster as the fuel was used up and the car got lighter...
@NeonDisembark54@Prostenjoyer Bearman made a second stop because he was stuck behind Albon and with Alonso 45 second behind he was put on the hards after only 7 laps on the mediums. You really can't compare their pace when one is stuck behind another car and the other is in clean air.
@MotorsportHate@Hirad_Gaming@Prostenjoyer Everybody was told to manage the front left and the gaps started to jump all over the place late into the race because they were all getting lapped by multiple cars. It doesn't really make a difference anyways. The original point was that Ocon had clean air.
@Hirad_Gaming@Prostenjoyer That is just straight up false, lol. After the pit stop he got dropped by Hulkenberg very quickly. By lap 24 he was almost 7 seconds behind him. I mean, the lap times are there for everybody to see...
@Prostenjoyer Simply not true. Check the pace between lap 24 and lap 35 when Bearman got free air the first time. He was on average 3-4 tenths/lap faster on 14 lap older tyres. He was literally being told on the radio that the pace is very good and how much he is faster than Ocon by.
@saku__lover@Prostenjoyer Ocon was faster in FP1 and FP2 on friday, so that means he would be in qualifying too? Really? It was like 0.04 difference in FP3, and it is practice anyways. Also, he did not take a new engine for the race.
@Prostenjoyer Ocon had a 1 second advantage when the VSC came out and Hulkenberg's stop was only 0.2 quicker. Nico gained around a second on Esteban in the pit lane somewhere. Most likely on the pit entry. Gotta give props to Hulkenberg for the execution too.
@NotFifthGear 2.6 stop and he had a couple tenths advantage on Hulk whose stop took 2.4. Esteban was just slower in the pit lane, so it is kind of on him this time around, and not on the pit crew.
@leclercsletters@ESPNF1 Their training ground is literally across the road from La Monumental and they had training earlier today. Not that surprising.
@ansardem@thanos876 That would make sense, because in SPA they didn't touch Ocon's car after friday when he was happy with it and on Saturday he was 7 tenths off and complaining about it.
@ansardem@thanos876 Btw Komatsu said yesterday that those issues might not be variation between components but a sensitivity issue. Something with these new regs that they don't understand. I guess he means small setup changes send the car completely out of its window and the drivers lose confidence
@CVNTYLEWIS@leclercpitlane@thanos876 How do you know the new PU was even in his car for FP1 and FP2? December is a long time away. That PU have to me it. Also, Bearman wasn't happy with his car on friday, looked better on saturday. You simply don't have enough information.
