@AlastairMac1964 if you work at Meta and this happened to you, file charges with DOJ
Meta has already been caught discriminating against American workers and paid multi-million dollar penalties!
A major loophole is being exploited in Texas
When Indians come over on a H-1B Visa, it’s not just them
They are then able to put in H-4 Visas and bring their kids and spouse
Their kids are then enrolled in American schools as residents not international students, this bypasses guardrails at colleges that make sure there aren’t too many international students changing the demographics of the school
This is why some schools are completely overrun with foreigners
tens of thousands of H-4 visas are issued annually, with India being the top country
This is a real and widely used pathway, though it is legal under current US immigration rules
H-4 children are treated as residents for enrollment purposes in most states, including Texas. They attend free public schools like any other child living in the district. They are not classified as international F-1 students, so they do not count toward international student caps or pay higher “international” tuition at the K-12 level
After high school, they can often qualify for in-state tuition. They apply as domestic students not international
We have to change our laws to close this loophole, especially knowing the H-1B Visa program is being abused to drastically
Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge & jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality.
There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman & Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity. The only question is WHEN they did it!
I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America.
OpenAI was founded to benefit all of humanity.
🚨REMOTE JOBS ARE GOING TO INDIA🇮🇳
Well, everyone is rightly upset about H1B jobs here in America, what is extremely underreported or American jobs being sent remote to India.
The first step in this process seems to be hiring an Indian executive to a company’s C-SUITE.
Programs like H-1B, L-1, F-1, and OPT are displacing U.S. workers, suppressing wages, and hollowing out our middle class. Fraud and abuse are rampant.
American workers are losing, so who's winning?
Answer: The "Visa Cartel"🧵
Ravi Kumar, CEO of Cognizant, serves on U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (listed officially as Chief Executive Officer, Cognizant, Teaneck, NJ).
He also chairs their AI Working Group.
Why is an Indian CEO of a censured Company serving on @USChamber board?!
I think everyone should have a draft email ready to go. If you’re laid off, you can quickly add the date and send it to leadership and HR, and copy the Department of Labor’s H-1B and Wage and Hour Division.
In it, state that you want to be considered for any roles that match your background, skills, and duties, regardless of job title, before the company hires H-1B workers or proceeds with PERM roles. You can also request copies of LCAs filed over the past year, including both primary and secondary worksites.
If a layoff is tied to foreign labor hiring, I’d expect that kind of email to get attention. More importantly, it creates a record, puts the employer on notice, and helps protect the worker.
I get that in the past we all felt like we couldn’t do things like this for fear of being blacklisted. But it’s time to face the reality.. if you’re American, you’re already being blacklisted. And if we don’t do something, our children won’t even make it onto the list!
We have slowed down the amount of H1B visas approvals!
They know we’re onto them so they flipped to OPT visa!
We are seeing a 47% surge in OPT Visa approvals!
They didn’t stop they just pivoted keep sharing this information. We have to get the word out.
My stepfather was part of the Verizon layoffs several months ago after 10 years.
He’s a data scientist.
He’s applied everywhere.
He can’t find work.
He has a Master’s from Fordham University.
This is exactly the kind of person we’re told the economy is built for.
Educated. Experienced. Proven.
And yet, he’s being passed over.
While we’re told there’s a “shortage” of qualified workers.
There isn’t a shortage.
There’s a system that would rather replace Americans than invest in them.
And people like him are paying the price.
🚨 Wow. Taxpayer-funded Indiana University just disclosed it’s hiring ANOTHER software engineer on a H-1B visa.
The university has graduated thousands of American computer science students. But apparently ZERO are qualified for this job.
It’s time to end the H-1B scam
Due to the high volume of Indians being blocked by country caps and visa limits, many who enter on student or tourist visas quickly marry an American girl to get a green card and citizenship
They eventually divorce her, marry an Indian girl from India, and sponsor her green card
🇺🇸 Amazon told workers to keep moving packages while a coworker lay dead on the warehouse floor...
An employee collapsed at Amazon's Troutdale, Oregon facility on April 6.
For over an hour, workers say they were told to keep working while the man's body was still there.
One worker with CPR training begged her supervisor to let her help the woman giving chest compressions.
"Just turn around and not look. Let's get back to work."
Amazon's response the same night: a text telling workers to report as usual the next day.
Workers found out about the death through social media.
Not from Amazon.
"We are just numbers."
A $2 trillion company couldn't pause a conveyor belt long enough to let a man die with dignity.
