Did Will Stancil get cursed by a witch to eternally try explaining a basic, uncontroversial concept to people who too angry to hear it and only get angrier and more numerous? It's a terrible fate.
There are good arguments to be made against Will but this sentiment ("how dare you say my lived experience is anecdotal") seems to be the driving force of most of the backlash against him. I couldn't blame the guy for being driven completely insane by it.
What are we supposed to say? "You have access to the unbiased truth of the world and no one can challenge you to look beyond your day-to-day life and see a larger picture"? Among other things how are you supposed to get a middle-class majority to care about the less fortunate?
I don't think I've ever seen someone be so relentlessly, unpopularly *correct* for so long. He's made doubling down an endurance sport. I'd be impressed if it weren't so worrying.
@katiedimartin His replies show that he's an asshole but he didn't actually do anything wrong in this video. And it looks like his cat fared better being able to land on its feet, which wouldn't happen if it was in an enclosed carrier.
@tailhater@latkedelrey Eh. If your pet is comfortable in a basket, it shouldn't be a problem for them to ride there. Some pets are *only* comfortable in an open container where their person can see/touch them.
@jpbrammer I thought so too! It's so nice and rare that I find out something in history/reality isn't as bad as I thought. I will treasure this moment.
