It was so great to see them go tour the UK and do Glastonbury, at a time when misinformed intolerance to Muslims is so prevalent. Hopefully their attitude and brilliant metal shows will help mitigate islamaphobic issues in the UK. Definitely a deserved award ! 👍👍👍

My first experience was seeing a video of one of their live covers of Metallica's "Enter Sandman", which led me to their own amazing songs and since following them with interest.
Please purchase this @rickygervais if you get a few spare quid, and then donate it for use to Heartstone Veganic Sanctuary.. 💕🙏

So get this: the world's coral reefs disappear at 1.5C. We are past 1.5C now and heading for 2C.
THEY ARE DONE.
The point is not "OMG all those lovely colourful things we see on David Attenborough are going to go."
No. The point is 25% of the world's fish will disappear as well.
No. The point is 1-2 billion people depend on those fish. 100s of millions of people will starve.
You're right, it could 'just' be only 10s of millions. So that's okay then. No problem.
@EljorisJoris@WilliamJRipple Incorrect. The analogy is about drinking something that causes harm to your health, versus drinking an alternative that is not. It is not about stopping drinking, it is about transitioning to drinking something better. We have renewable energy alternatives to fossil fuels, so ...
#Divestfromfossilfuels without getting gloomy on the details, take a step back and see from this perspective there's a positive swing in the right direction. Source in thread.

The biggest example of greenwashing is JBS’s 2040 net zero strategy.
The world's largest meat company (seeking an IPO in the US) doesn't count the GHGs from the animals in their supply chain
This is 90-97% of their GHGs & ultimately their entire business

Considering a large portion of habitat loss is also due to animal agriculture, again we see human carnivory largely responsible for biodiversity loss. Note; Small typo in the graphic should read ≥100kg, not 1,000kg.
New study showed the common reasons people weren't able to reduce meat consumption (despite planning to):
- fam/friends pressure
- no time/inconvenience
Like barriers to other eco-actions, education, direct alternatives, changing defaults will help.
