Whilst this is the book lots of people are talking about and seemingly getting lots of positive reviews, it just wasn’t for me. Wasn’t captured by the premise and the twist, well, I had given up at that point - but you can’t like them all

Wow what a book! So many unbelievable parts to the story it feels like you are in the middle of a movie, except this is a real story - mesmerising for sure!
Book 16 of 2025 ✅
This book from @AndyBurnhamGM and @MetroMayorSteve is an excellent read - showcasing the benefits of power in the hands of local communities and the reforms we need to see in our country! Loved it!
15 years ago I was fortunate enough to work for Steve Rotheram. In that time we spent much of it working on the disclosure of the Hillsborough documents and through it I saw @AndyBurnhamGM up close, working for the families.
I saw him behind closed doors, away from the cameras. He was every bit as angry, determined and passionate to reveal the dark underbelly of the state and fight for justice when he was sat in his office at 10pm at night writing a speech, as he was sat in a Sky News studio with the nation watching his every word.
When it comes to standing up for the working class, he’s the real deal and the strongest political communicator I’ve seen. I’m looking forward to hitting the doors for him in this hugely consequential by-election.

@ArchRose90@HorneyMedia As it happens Chris, it’s part of my regular routine. Ask my neighbours. I often leave my car at Newton and do my morning run to pick it up. I did it again today because I had a pint at the match. 👍🏻

Took me ages to buy this and then pick it up to read but left choosing my next book to the MIMHC Bookclub and this was the one! A really fun read of an American sitcom family - great story!

Thanks for this one @MrsEmmaHall - finally got round to reading this and what a funny book - a very different way to look at our politics of the last decade!
