The voices of young people matter -- not only on #YouthDay, but every day. They have unique insights and play a critical role.
In my conversation with WHO Youth Council members and young people across the world, I learned a lot and enjoyed hearing and responding to the challenging questions they posed.
I'm even more committed than ever to strengthen the participation of the Youth Council - and all youth - in WHO's work. Their perspectives and energy are vital at this time of headwinds and opportunities in global health.
This #InternationalWomensDay, we’re not just talking about change—we’re making it happen! It’s time to break barriers, amplify voices, and create safe spaces where women and girls can thrive.
Let’s #AccelerateAction and push for a future where EVERY girl is empowered! #IWD2025
On #HumanRightsDay, @WHO's message is clear:
HEALTH IS A HUMAN RIGHT for everyone, everywhere.
There will be no peaceful and prosperous future as long if health is only a privilege for some. Countries must deliver #HealthForAll.

So proud of Antigua and Barbuda for hosting the #SIDS4 conference 🙌🏾
looking forward to the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS, the 10-year action plan to be agreed which will set out the sustainable development aspirations of SIDS and the support required to achieve them
Impact of non-communicable diseases #NCDs is felt most acutely in small island developing states #SIDS.
SIDS have some of the world’s highest rates of #diabetes and #obesity, which are key risk factors for 🫀cardiovascular diseases.
Therefore, SIDS are disproportionately affected by premature, preventable deaths due to NCDs, which in turn have a profound impact on the prevalence of #mentalhealth issues and on economic prosperity, and are a major threat to sustainable development. https://t.co/P7zjc9GVtH
The tobacco industry targets youth for a lifetime of profits, creating a new wave of addiction.
👉To protect our youth, we must urgently implement policies to regulate tobacco advertising, promotion & sponsorship in all media.
