Grace Wangare Thini, a 16-year-old girl at St. Francis Mangu Girls in Kiambu County, has vanished from one of Kenya’s most guarded schools.

What is disturbing is the alleged delay in realizing she was missing only after a teacher noticed she was absent by the third lesson and it was later confirmed the following day.

Her disappearance adds to a growing pattern amid recent killings and reports of school children going missing, yet the government remains largely silent.
