KAMPALA MARRIOTT HOTEL CHANGES CITY SKYLINE:
The 5-star twin-tower luxury property which will soon be opened to the public is located on Ggaba Road in Nsambya.

The Director Economic Affairs said this is one of the projects @GovUganda is supporting, adding that, he was happy with the progress already registered.
"Part of Government policy is to support branded 5 star international standard hotels to attract ultra-rich tourists," said Kaggwa, adding that under tourism which is one of the anchor sectors (ATMS), government is targeting to double the number of tourists and also double the money spent in Uganda.

It’s about the Law, Not Ethnicity.
@ReachDrMuganga is undermining a legitimate debate by framing it as discrimination against him as a Munyarwanda. That is not the issue. An expired passport does not mean one ceases to be a citizen; a passport is merely a travel document. Many Ugandan citizens do not even hold passports.
The real issue is straightforward: if you acquired Rwandan citizenship while working in Rwanda, Canadian citizenship while in Canada, and later Ugandan citizenship, then simply state the facts as they are. There is nothing inherently wrong with holding multiple citizenships. The question is whether Uganda’s Constitution and laws permit a person with that citizenship history to hold certain offices, including that of Minister. That is the debate—not ethnicity.
If we’re serious about fighting corruption, we can’t stop at exciting the public with House arrests and headlines. People must be prosecuted and convicted so everyone learns the lesson. This habit of forgiving, only for them to fight us again later demoralizes every anti-corruption crusader. You can’t convict Nandutu over 300 iron sheets, then forgive the one who stole the entire economy. The law must apply equally big or small fish.

Hon. Minister, with utmost respect, it's time to shed the old self. Public office demands a different tone. You now represent the Government and people of Uganda. I humbly submit.
I congratulate the Five new non-permanent members that have been elected to the UN Security Council, Austria🇦🇹 , Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 , Portugal 🇵🇹 , Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 ,Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 and wish them the best during their tenure.
Did you ever hold, or do you currently hold, Canadian and/or Rwandan citizenship?
If you previously held another citizenship and have since renounced it in order to qualify for ministerial office, then the matter is straightforward: provide Parliament with documentary proof of the renunciation or cancellation.
There is no need to impute motives, allege hatred, or raise the political temperature over what is essentially a factual question. Public office carries public accountability, and questions about eligibility are legitimately answered with evidence. #UgandaGovernedByLaw

Mr. Muganga Lawrence was not rejected by the committee for being a Munyarwanda, a narrative i see some people so deceptively selling. We have other leaders who are banyarwanda who were approved & have been approved in the past. Hon . Aisha Ssekindi and Dianah Mutasingwa were approved yet they are Banyarwanda but Ugandan citizens.
Muganga was not approved after he denied holding a Rwandan passport, but the Committee investigations confirmed he holds 3 passports: Ugandan, Canadian and Rwandan. Why was he denying it? Therefore, the claim that he was rejected because of being a munyarwanda is totally false, misleading & dangerous.

Today I had an excellent interaction during my vetting with the appointments committee of Parliament of Uganda as they carried out their constitutional mandate. I outlined my vision for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Don’t wait to forgive someone till they apologise. You may end up waiting forever. Remember, it’s easy to hold a grudge and it’s easy to lay blame. But by doing so, you’re allowing others to have power over you. For the sake of closure and healing, you should forgive and move on.
Uganda will no longer allocate government funds for the organisation of public holiday events such as Women’s Day, Labour Day, and Independence Day starting in the 2026/27 financial year, according to the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi.
