@jayeskenazi@AGHamilton29 Apparently not having the results by Jun 3 is a huge problem, at least from my reading of x. So my plan is we move the primary to the first Tuesday in May next cycle. Then the results will be ready early June. Win win.
@ChesterMorton96@LoganDobson Ah, see, I was ignoring that one federalist paper where it talks about determining the outcome of an election with 72 hours.
@Option3030Andy@LoganDobson It's literally in the constitution, article 2, clause 2, "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors". They could allow a turkey to certify electors if they so chose.
@Option3030Andy@LoganDobson Alright, I'll re-evalute....ok, ya, I'm back I'm fine. If you need a red coded reference for the NPVIC so you don't feel the yuckies I can send you one.
@prickly_pickles@LoganDobson Where does the constitution mandate this? If enough states decide to choose electors based on the national popular vote, then we have a popular vote election. https://t.co/W1DMVaLCze
@Option3030Andy@LoganDobson Good news! Since the constitution allows each state to define how they appoint electors, there's a simple way to do it constitutionally: https://t.co/GEQwcPaNII
@chriswithans I mean sure, 99% of mail arrives within 7 days. Probably 99.9%. But trucks break down, systems fail, warehouse equipment stops working. We've all had a letter that took much longer than it should have to arrive because failures line up.
