🌍 Together, we made history for kidney health!
For the first time ever, kidney care is officially on the global health agenda. The World Health Assembly has adopted a landmark resolution that recognizes kidney health as a key priority in the fight against #NCDs.
👏 Thank you to Guatemala for submitting the resolution and to the entire global kidney community for your tireless advocacy and support. This is a pivotal moment—let’s keep pushing for progress!

📣 The ISN led and delivered a joint constituency statement at #WHA78 under Agenda Item 13.1 focused on the urgent need to prioritize circulatory health, including kidney disease, CVD, and diabetes, in global NCD strategies ahead of the 2025 #UNHLM on #NCDs.

ISN President @cellotonelli during ISN and @devex side event at #WHA78 : "Kidney disease are common, deadly, preventable, and treatable. So, common because it affects about 1 in 10 of us, 850 million people around the world. Deadly because it's the third leading cause of death in terms of its rate of growth. And preventable, because for the first time, we have the medications we need, and we know how to deliver them at scale to prevent kidney failure and improve health.
So we applaud Guatemala and the other member states that sponsored this resolution.
We think it's going to make a huge difference The resolution just needs to be voted and then we'll get to work on the hard work of implementing it."
The ISN proudly supports Guatemala's leadership in a historic initiative at the @WHO to recognize kidney disease as a global health priority and include it in the list of #NCDs. This recognition is a critical step toward developing global strategies that improve patient care and lessen the burden of kidney disease on communities worldwide.
We need your voice! Join us in this transformative effort by signing the ISN petition. Together, we can advocate for kidney health and create a healthier future for all.
