The more I sit with and watch back, the more I firmly believe that this is all a scheme that Todd (production) set up to come to us with the bullshit. Because the polarization that's happening online is eye opening.

@Mirababy10 Two things can be true at the same time. Aniya can be insecure and confused in her relationship AND KC can be confused and a liar. These aren't mutually exclusive things.
Aniyah was insecure in her relationship with KC, you can pick up on her tells (the leg shaking) BUT she also was getting conflicting advice. Some of the islanders were playing telephone and giving her not quite verbatim info without context for a while (1)
@Mirababy10 So if KC is saying the sky is blue to Aniya. And saying the sky is blue but sometimes its light blue to the guys. They turn around in a challenge and say KC said the sky is dark blue. Now Aniya confused and so is KC.
@Mirababy10 Each of the challenges where one of the boys will paraphrase and add words that aren't quite what KC said though. Zach and Bryce are notorious for sprinkling in ad libs that slightly change the context of what he says. None of the guys are innocent.
I do believe that this recoupling has shaken her out of the veil of her insecurities a bit. Hopefully when Carl returns she can actually find the safety and reassurance she needs in a relationship. He is very emotionally intelligent and that's good for her.
Based on what she saw, KC hadn't done anything different from the Zach and Sincere so why would she think otherwise. There seems to be a lot of nuance to the situation overall that we (the audience) aren't acknowledging.
Misinformation spreads fast in that villa. Aniyah also second guessed herself. I truly think she was going to choose Carl up until she saw the other girls' guys come back single from Casa. But she again didn't have all the information that was relevant to her situation.
Really appreciate having academics in reality tv discourse. You end up in echo chambers online, so it's nice to hear from professionals with experience in anthropological fields.
