The world is spending far more money on waging war than on building peace.
But excessive military spending often undermines peace.
A more secure world begins by investing at least as much in fighting poverty as we do in fighting wars.

Key discussions included regional priorities for strengthened collaboration, update on the review of the regional architecture and ongoing partnerships.

The Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Hon. Jotham Napat received the @HeadUNDRR, urging strong #UN support for disaster preparedness & better coordination among dev partners in recovery efforts. The PM suggested a dedicated @UNDRR presence in Vanuatu & emphasized #buildingbackbetter.

It was a pleasure to reconnect with an old friend, Cynthia Houniuhi the President of Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change, who is on the way to Geneva and the Hague for the pivotal hearings on the Climate Justice case at the ICJ.
