Unpopular opinion: Daemon might actually be the only Targaryen who got what he wanted from the Dance. 👀
He killed Aemond, his greatest rival, knowing he probably wouldn’t survive either.
Rhaenyra lost her throne and was killed by Sunfyre… while all four of Daemon’s children survived.
So why do people keep calling Rhaenyra the “winner” of the Dance?
DAEMON WAS DIFFERENT
A warrior. A dragonrider. A battle strategist. The Rogue Prince. Daemon had the courage, presence and pure madness that made you never know what he’d do next.
And honestly, name another Targaryen who had a bond with his dragon like Daemon and Caraxes. I’ll wait.
@Arunav1238869@Creativemelody1 You seriously think Jon faced someone on Criston Cole’s level😂 Cole was one of the finest warriors of his generation and beat Daemon twice Jon’s opponents don’t come close to that level Daemon fought killed Crabfeeder Aemond. Jon has never faced anyone comparable to Aemond.
@thedudejnr Alyn was right here in every damn way. Who the hell asked Corlys to go hunting? He had years to name his heirs, yet he waited until after the Gullet.
Alyn should’ve gone straight for the High Septon’s head.
HOTD doesn’t have a pacing problem. It has a causality problem.
Major events no longer feel like they happen—they simply appear.
Ulf and Ormund suddenly have a conversation about switching sides.
Corlys gets kidnapped.
Baela and Alyn suddenly kiss.
Characters suddenly make enormous decisions we never watched them arrive at.
We’re given the event, but not the chain of choices that caused it.
That’s why the scenes feel hollow. A good story doesn’t just tell you what happened—it makes you understand why it had to happen.
When the audience has to write the missing scenes themselves, is HOTD still telling the story?
@Creativemelody1 Jon snow didn't even face a guy like roxton
Daemon > Jon snow
Jon is a great fighter but daemon is a veteran warrior with a much stronger body of combat experience and feats.
@MontWatch819@OmoAlade005@TheXerxesHQ Kat may disagree but her opinion doesn’t automatically make Hugh a bad person. She was his wife, not the narrator of his character 😂
@GrievingCheese@AJ_Basic@TheXerxesHQ He didn’t abandon her to chase a dragon for fun he was desperate to change his family’s situation. And blaming Hugh for her death as if he deliberately chose it is a huge stretch. You can criticize him as a husband without pretending the show established him as a bad person
@AJ_Basic@TheXerxesHQ His wife thinks he’s a shitty husband. That doesn’t automatically make him a shitty person. The show clearly portrays Hugh sympathetically
@alexevans725189@KachySZN This is Daemon vs Roxton not Cole vs Daemon cole beating Daemon twice doesn’t make him relevant to every debate. Roxton was a great warrior, but the books never establish him above Daemon. I’d still take book Daemon over Roxton. The show changing that doesn’t make Daemon lesser.
