[World Music Awards @WORLDMUSICAWARD]

Happy 30th Birthday to the gorgeous, super talented chart topping, award-winning Singer, Actress, TV host and Fashion & Global Icon, the One & Only JOY! 👏🎂🥳🎉🌟👑🐐💚
Joy found fame as the lead Rapper and lead Vocalist of Red Velvet, one of the best-selling K-Pop Girl Groups of All Time! Joy has a rare distinctive voice that stands out in every Red Velvet song! She has been praised by many famous composers, singers and producers for her amazing vocals! In 2020, she became the first SM Female Artist without a solo debut to receive a Bonsang (Main Prize) nomination and in 2021, she became the first SM Female Soloist to be nominated for the 'Album of the Year Daesang' (Grand Prize) at the Melon Music Awards! Joy has a very charismatic presence onstage and a reputation as one of K-Pop's most naturally magnetic visuals and personalities! She was officially introduced as the 4th member of Red Velvet on July 29, 2014, and debuted with Red Velvet in August 2014 with the digital single "Happiness". The group instantly became one of the most powerful groups in South Korea, and was named by Billboard as one of the most popular K-pop groups worldwide! Joy has been key to Red Velvet's global success, but she's also a hugely successful Artist in her own right!

Joy has steadily built a solo catalog that sits beside her Red Velvet work. In April 2016, she released her self-written single "Young Love" with co-star Yook Sungjae! In November 2016, she released "Always In My Heart" with Lim Seulong which hit No. 1 on several charts and No. 10 on the Gaon Digital Chart! In 2017 she released a run of 'The Liar and His Lover', followed by “Dream Me” with NCT’s Mark in 2018, and the career-defining 2020 Hospital Playlist track “Introduce Me a Good Person!” for the soundtrack of tvN's drama 'Hospital Playlist'. The song reached No. 1 on multiple charts, No. 5 on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 Chart, No. 6 on the Gaon Digital Chart, and surpassed 500 Million Digital Index Points on Gaon! In May 2020, Joy featured on Crush's "Mayday" which topped several Korean charts, and received multi nominations at the 30th Seoul Music Awards. Joy was also nominated as a soloist for the 'Top 10 Artist of the Year Bonsang' (Main Prize) at the 2020 Melon Music Awards, and 'Artist of the Year Daesang' at the 2020 Genie Music Awards. In May 2021 Joy released her amazing solo debut EP 'Hello' whose title track went to #1 on iTunes in 26 countries! All 6 tracks from the EP debuted on the Gaon Digital Chart, with Joy also reaching No. 1 as a soloist on the Melon Female Solo Artist Chart. "Hello" hit the Top 10 of Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 and was nominated for the Album of the Year Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2021 Melon Music Awards, with Joy nominated as a soloist for the 2nd consecutive year for the 'MMA Top 10 Artist Bonsang' (Main Prize). On November 27, 2021, Joy was nominated for 'Artist of the Year' at the Gaon Music Awards and was also nominated for 'Best Digital Song Bonsang' at the 36th Golden Disc Awards & Main Award (Bonsang) at the 31st Seoul Music Awards. NME listed "Hello" as one of the Top 25 Best K-pop songs of 2021! Joy released “Your Name” in 2022 and in 2024 she dropped a remake of “My Lips Like Warm Coffee” with Big Naughty which was a success on realtime charts. Joy 'From JOY, with Love' was released in 2025, and was her statement project! it debuted at No. 4 on the Circle Album Chart and reached No. 2 on iTunes worldwide, charting all 6 tracks on Melon’s Hot 100, with the title track “Love Splash!” hitting No. 2 on Bugs in realtime!
Taken together, the releases show a singer who can score a nationwide hit without a full solo debut album and later write her own material on her own terms.

Joy is not just an amazing Singer and performer but also a very popular TV host and actress, starring in the 4th season of the MBC variety show 'We Got Married' in 2015, and winning the New Star Award & Best Couple Award at the 2015 MBC Entertainment Awards!
Joy made her acting debut in 2017 as the female star in tvN's music-based drama 'The Liar and His Lover', releasing several OSTs including: "Yeowooya", "I'm Okay", "Your Days", "Shiny Boy", "Waiting For You", and "The Way to Me". She won the Newcomer Award at the OSEN Cable TV Awards. In 2018, Joy was the co-host of the 2nd season of JTBC's 'Sugar Man' with Yoo Jaesuk, You Heeyeol, and Park Narae! That same year she starred in MBC's drama 'Tempted' and recorded its OST "OMG!" Joy received several award nominations including 'Best Actress' at the 2018 MBC Drama Awards, the 'Popularity Award (Drama Actress)' at The Seoul Awards, and the 'Actress of the Year Daesang' at the Brand of the Year Awards. In July 2018, Joy hosted Lifetime's new variety show 'Pajama Friends" and released the soundtrack song "Dream Me" with Mark Lee for the KBS drama 'The Ghost Detective'! In 2019, Joy was the host of the popular beauty program OnStyle's 'Get It Beauty'. In December 2019, Joy became part of the athletic variety show, 'Handsome Tigers', as the manager of Seo Janghoon's basketball team which included LeeSangyoon & Cha Eun Woo. In June 2023, Joy was nominated for Best Actress, Best New Actress, and the Popular Star Award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards. In 2019, Joy was listed in Gallup Korea's Top 20 Most Popular Idols! She has also topped the "Individual Girl Group Members Brand Power Ranking" in Korea several times.

Joy is hotly sought after by many top brands. From 2019, she was the official muse of eSpoir, and in 2021 she became Tod’s Korean ambassador, causing a sensation at Milan Fashion Week for the brandthrough mid-2024! In 2021 she also became an ambassador for Hogan and face and model for Calvin Klein. In July 2023, Joy became the new global brand ambassador for Fresh Beauty, under LVMH because of "her sincere attitude towards life and her beautiful authenticity fascinates people". Her beauty and lifestyle deals include eSpoir, Aveda Korea, vegan line Athé, sportswear brand Barrel, plus later work in 2024 with Pandora and in 2025 with Taiwan’s betterbio. She has a true global beauty role and a run of strong fashion and cosmetics campaigns.

Joy is an active and consistent philanthropist, and in February 2020, she donated 10 million won to the Community Chest of Korea to help support those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea and in April 2020, she took part in the multi-collaboration project "Evergreen Tree" to support medical professionals during COVID-19. Joy donated part of the proceeds from her 2021 album 'Hello' to SMILE For U × UNICEF! On October 21, 2022, Joy and Wonstein released the single "Love Song" as part of the "World Peace Project", with proceeds donated to UNICEF Korea. More recently she showed up on 'I Live Alone' with a huge haul of personal items for a charity bazaar.

Joy is the rare idol who doesn’t have to do anything to attract everyone's attention. Whether she walks into a a song or a room, the room rearranges around her. Few people in K-pop make being this magnetic look so natural...
