The Ruto government quietly handed KRA a loaded gun.

The Finance Act now lets them treat unpaid housing levy exactly like unpaid tax.

That means they can freeze your bank account overnight, kill your PIN, seize money straight from the bank, ban you from travelling, and attach your property, all over the 1.5% housing levy.

They’ve already taken over Sh200 billion from salaries since 2023. Yet the Housing Fund Board itself admits more than Sh100 billion is still “missing.”

Employers deducted it from broke workers and never remitted it. Informal traders never paid. An Auditor-General report even exposed 6,390 companies paying PAYE but completely skipping the levy.

Housing PS Charles Hinga confirmed it: KRA now has the “greater bite” they demanded and will start reconciling and coming for the money.

This doesn't look like enforcement. This looks like economic warfare on ordinary Kenyans.

Apart from exposing the panic in the Kenya Kwanza regime, the images and videos coming out of Homa Bay are exposing something else entirely. In 2026, we are seeing places with terrible roads and stretches where you can barely see electricity poles, yet these are the same people being told TUTAM.

Now you almost start wondering whether some leaders were really worried about stopping the Linda Mwananchi rally, or whether they simply did not want the rest of Kenya seeing the Homa Bay that the cameras are now showing us.

Peter Kaluma is out there in Homa Bay acting like he owns the county and everyone in it.🤦

He just told the youth: to avoid chanting “Wantam”… that word is now “incitement to violence” in his eyes.

Then he turned on hotel owners and warned them: if you host the Linda Mwananchi team, expect checks, expect trouble.....

Imagine an elected MP threatening private hotels and criminalising a slogan simply because people want to gather and speak.

This isn’t leadership. This is pure fear dressed up as authority.

The same man who used to scream about democracy is now trying to silence people, police hotels, and control what Homa Bay is allowed to say.

Homa Bay is not Kaluma’s personal farm.

The people will decide tomorrow, not him.

Is this the new normal? An MP openly threatening businesses and youths just to protect one man’s political comfort?

He will not believe.

Let me say this, NCIC is completely to blame for what Kaluma said & today's Homabay violence

Last week, we sent them more than four formal complaints against him, with full evidence. Not even an acknowledgement.

They used to hide behind, “We can’t act because nobody complains.”

Well, we complained. Multiple times. And they know that.

If NCIC had simply done their job on those complaints, Kaluma wouldn’t have felt bold enough to come out and threaten Kenyans yesterday.

Their silence has emboldened him.

Meanwhile, Murkomen and Wanga are out there pouring more fuel on the same fire.

I’m filing two more complaints today or tomorrow, just so the record is clear that we tried.

This isn’t leadership from NCIC.

This is pure failure. And ordinary Kenyans are the ones who will pay the price.

Goons just stormed Osiri Beach Hotel in Nyandiwa, Homa Bay, smashed the place up, and terrorised the staff, all because Sifuna shared a simple beach video and the Linda Mwananchi team was meant to stay there.

They didn’t even wait for him to arrive. They just attacked the hotel like it was a battlefield.

This is not politics anymore. This is pure thuggery.

Gladys … Kanyuma… if this is how you treat Sifuna and others in Homa Bay today, how the hell do you expect to be treated when you step foot in Western, Rift, or Mt. Kenya tomorrow?

You can’t plant goons on your soil and then cry “democracy” elsewhere.

Respect is reciprocal.
